To all of the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines...

We've hit the 5 year anniversary of the Iraq War.
While many people have spent the last 5 years protesting, analyzing, criticizing and bitching, you have done one thing...

The job that we, the United States of America, have asked you to do.

You volunteered  to serve your country, without knowing where you would be asked to go and what you would be asked to do.

You should be commended for your bravery and selflessness.
It is not your job to dictate policy, just to do what has been asked of you, by those who have the job of dictating policy.

It has been my honor to meet many of you before, during and after your service to this country and there are only 2 words that any American should ever say to you with regards to this war...

Thank you

History will dictate whether the decisons made by the politicians were the right ones.
You have done your duty, and you've only asked for one thing...
For your sacrifices to be noticed!

Please know that I am  thankful for all that you have done!
I am so proud to have you wear the uniform of the country that I love.
Thank you for putting US first, and thank you to your families for understanding the true definition of sacrifice.
You are all Heros!

97.7/107.3 WAAF’s Mistress Carrie to be Honored by United States Army

Mistress Carrie to Receive a Military Public Service Award

Boston (April 3, 2007) On Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the Entercom studios, 97.7/107.3 WAAF personality/Music Director Mistress Carrie will be presented with the Commander’s Award for Public Service by General Oliver Mason, Major Winfield Danielson and Sergeant Jamie Gaiten.  The three members of the United States Army will arrive at the studios at approximately 4 p.m. and surprise her on-air to honor her with this prestigious award.

In 2006, Mistress Carrie deployed with National Guard members to Iraq and Kuwait to interview soldiers from Massachusetts during a special broadcast live from Baghdad for the fifth anniversary of September 11.  Through her afternoon show on WAAF, she informed her loyal listeners of the hard work and resilience of the troops overseas.  Her efforts helped boost the morale of deployed soldiers and airmen as well as enhanced public understanding of the National Guard’s mission.

“Mistress Carrie’s efforts are in keeping with the best traditions of public service,” said United States Army General Oliver Mason.  “She is a credit to WAAF and the commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

The Commander's Award for Public Service is the fourth highest public service honorary award that may be granted to a private citizen. Any individual is eligible for this award, except for Army civilian employees who are eligible for Army honorary awards, military personnel, or Army contractors.  This award is given to recognize service or achievements that contribute significantly to the accomplishment of the mission of an Army activity, command, or staff agency.
