LOWELL, Mass. (AP)

An intense fire ravaged a three-story apartment building before dawn Thursday, killing four adults and three children, forcing tenants to jump or hand their children to safety, and leading to dramatic rescues from upper floors. The victims in this former mill city about 25 miles northwest of Boston were all found in units on the top floor of the building, which had a liquor store on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floors, fire officials said. To read more about this story, please click here

Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance's Rock the Boat Fundraiser

Rock the Boat is a tasting and music event that will highlight local-dayboat seafood tastings from area restauraunts, live music, chef demos, a fisheries-focused art exhibit, raffle and an auction! The evening will be joined by folk rock singer-songwriter Chelsea Barry and the Bob Marley tribute reggae band, Hope Road.

Ticket price will also include one free drink. Attendees will have a chance to taste the bounty of the ocean, learn about sustainable fisheries, dance to the music and bid on an awesome lineup of auction prizes while raising funds for a great organization.
NAMA works with coastal communities that depend on fishing to protect our marine environment, strengthen local leadership, and give voice to independent, community based fishermen. NAMA advocates for policies that advance social, economic, and environmental justice throughout the entire seafood value chain.

Tickets may be purchased online at namarocktheboat.eventbrite.com.  Learn more about NAMA at www.namanet.org or call 978-281-6934.
