Today Is the Most Depressing Day of the Year.

January 6, 2014

According to a new study that looked at negative comments on Twitter, today is the most depressing day of the YEAR. Mostly because everyone goes back to work, it's cold, and we're sick of dealing with our New Year's resolutions.

We all know that making it through the holidays is a bitch.  But making it through January 6 might be the worst yet.  See, according to a new study, it's the most depressing day of the entire year. Never mind it's pouring, we just got hit with a Nor’easter and came out of a cold snap that could freeze Jack Frost’s balls off. Now this.

These so called researchers looked at millions of comments on Twitter from the past three years, and calculated how many of them included negative comments. And it turns out the first Monday after New Year's is when we complain the most. Except for New Englanders, we just complain incessantly. They said it's because this Monday is the first work day of the year (for most people who bitch the most, apparently). Other things factor in, like cold weather, failed attempts to keep New Year's resolutions (you didn't even last a week), and the returned traffic on the Pike doesn’t help either.

Just an FYI, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day are the least depressing. See you next year, Massholes.
