Read The Grammys' Apology To Metallica

February 16, 2017

In the wake of the technical difficulties that plagued the start of Metallica and Lady Gaga's "Moth Into Flame" Grammys performance, Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich issued an official apology to the band during an interview with the Associated Press. "These kids of things are horrible when they happen," says Ehrlich. "That's one of the risks of live television. My guys say that the mic cable was connected. My guys' theory was that... one of the extras (onstage) accidentally kicked out the cable that went to the mic. Obviously, we apologize to the band."

While their television audience was left without James Hetfield's vocals, web-streamers say that they were able to hear him fine and were even able to recover the audio from their performance and included them in a video of their performance.
