Nikki Sixx Says Ivan Moody Must Be Honest With Himself If He Wants To Be Sober

June 16, 2017

The subject of substance is a very real, very serious topic these days, and Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody is an example of millions of people struggling with addiction issues. But if there's anyone that knows a thing or two about battling substance abuse, it's Nikki Sixx of Motley Crüe, who died and came back to life almost thirty years ago.

After FFDP announced that Ivan Moody had to leave their European tour in order to get help, Nikki Sixx shared his own personal experiences with addiction and attempts at sobriety on his show Sixx Sense. In the clip posted to his Facebook page, Sixx described his own road to recovery saying, "I didn’t wanna get sober so I tried every which way. I said ‘I’m just gonna drink wine’ and then ‘I’m just gonna do this,’ and ‘I’m just gonna smoke weed and I’m not gonna do hard drugs,’ and then it was, like, ‘Well, I’ll do them, but only on weekends.’ Very common. Anybody out there in recovery has heard a version of this or tried it on themselves.”
