Warren Haynes And The Boston Pops Bring A New Dimension To The Dead

Warren Haynes is the epitome of the Journeyman Musician.  He is always on the move and always playing.  He has not only been a member of The Allman Brothers Band for the last 25 years and fronted his own band, Gov't Mule, but has also played with Bob Dylan, Corrosion Of Conformity, Les Claypool, Dave Matthews Band, and many many others.  

His travels have also included playing with The Dead and Phil Lesh And Friends which made him a natural choice to lead the first installment of the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration.  After a wildly successful first run the Celebration started a second with Keith Lockhart And The Boston Pops this past Tuesday and Wednesday.  I was very fortunate to be able to sit down with Mr. Haynes and Maestro Lockhart before the opening night at Symphony Hall in Boston and talk about how the music of Jerry Garcia made it to the Symphonic stage.
