Monday Recap!

January 6, 2014

Well, today's the day.  The end of an era.  The last day in the Boston Mayor's office for Tom Menino and the first for Marty Walsh.  We spoke with Marty this morning and wished him well before his inauguration.  While he was campaigning, Marty agreed to come on with us for a monthly segment.  We floated a few ideas for what to call it... anything from "Wednesdays with Walshy" to "The Mayor on the Microphone."  (You wacky texters, you.)  If you have any suggestions for the name, please let us know!  The hot button issue of late has been Marty's opposition to arming Boston Police with AR-15's.  Greg asked him about it, and he said that he planned to meet with other key figures to discuss the issue further.  What are your thoughts on this issue?  Leave a comment below.

We did get a nice little surprise call from "The Mayor on the Air" after we spoke with Mayor Walsh.  He mentioned his favorite moments from over the years, both political and sports-related.  If you missed the call, click HERE.  We will certainly miss trying to figure out all of the "Meninoisms" that came flying out of the Mayor's mouth over the years... from Varitek splitting the uprights, to Gonk and Wilcock... he is a man of few indecipherable words.  We listened to our top five audio cuts from Menino.  Did we miss any good ones?

Here are some of the other things we discussed this morning:
