I think the people that are offended by someone calling a Christmas tree a holiday tree are more annoying than the people who call it a holiday tree.

More critical voices have warned that the passage of the bill would hand the federal government unprecedented powers on the scale of Stalinist North Korea, which routinely imprisons political dissidents in concentration camps, having first declared them enemies of the state, of course. “Congress is poised to affirm that President Obama and his successors can imprison whomever they want, for as long as they want, on no authority but their own, so long as they first assert that the person in question is a terrorist,” writes the Atlantic’s Conor Friedersdorf. “They needn’t present evidence, or persuade a judge, or get a majority of votes from a jury. Just whispering “he’s a terrorist” is enough. Yes, even if the suspect is an American citizen.” Writing in an op-ed for the Washington Times, Senator Rand Paul warned that American citizens could be sent to Guantanamo Bay and that if the bill is passed it means, “the terrorists will have won.” “Detaining citizens without a court trial is un-American. In fact, this alarming arbitrary power is reminiscent of Egypt’s “permanent” emergency law authorizing indefinite preventive detention, a law that provoked ordinary Egyptians to tear their country apart last spring and risk their lives to fight,” writes Paul. Final passage of the NDAA bill with Section 1031 included would formally codify into law the federal government’s ability to completely strip U.S. citizens of their rights, deny them a trial, and send them off to a foreign detention center never to be seen again. THE IDEA OF THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS SHOULD NOT BE SUCH A FOREIGN CONCEPT FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOU HILLMAN, AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS DEFENDED SUCH FRAUDS AS JERRY FALWELL. SIMILARLY, FOR THE HOLIDAY'S TRUE MEANING SHOULD NOT BE SO DIFFICULT TO GRASP FOR YOU, SOMEONE WHO INSULTS EVERYONE 'S INTELLIGENCE EVERY YEAR, BY DEMONSTRATING YOUR ALLEGED "COMPASSION" FOR THOSE THAT ARE LESS FORTUNATE. It's Christmas. It's a Christmas tree. It really is that simple. If you know someone doesn't celebrate Christmas, you don't have to go out of your way to wish them a Merry Christmas (like the next time Julian Edelman is on), but in our society one ought to be able to call a pine tree in someone's living room in December a Christmas tree. It was disingenuous on Governor Chafee's part to try to negate that simple fact. It would have been better for him to decline to put up a tree than to call it a holiday tree. Jews don't put up trees for Hanucka. Moslems don't put up trees for Ramadan. It's a Christian custom. That should not bother anyone.

To correct the dolt above Christmas is actually the pagan celebration Winter Solictice. It was converted to a Christian holiday in order to convert the pagan population of old. It was popularized by Macy in NY, and built up by companies like Coke. That aside Christ was actually born closer to May-June and not December. Unfourtunately for the rest of the world it is tradition here. Don't like it, get back on your mode of transportation and get out. Go back to where you came from where they don't say such an offensive word as Christmas. Take a couple of books with you to burn as well for your assbackwards country. It is our religious right to celebrate as we see fit without impedence. Just like you do at your mosque, temple, or whatever you do. A big MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU.

Sorry, but Christmas is NOT the pagan celebration of the Winter Solstice. That's Yule. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. Whether that's done on Dec 25 or April 17 does not matter in the least.
