Rolling Stones Guitarist Keith Richards loves Shepherd's Pie so much he once made a stadium full of fans wait until he had one delivered to his dressing room. As he tells it in his Autobiography "Life", someone had helped themselves to his pre-show Shepherd's Pie that he demands in his dressing room. Richards, upset mostly by the fact he wasn't the first one in on it, said the Rolling Stones would not play a note until he received another fresh pie. The show was delayed for a few hours until the Ransom Pie was delivered to Keith's room, where he a plunged a knife into the center, then immediately left for the stage without eating a bite. Take that Axl Rose.
My wife makes an excellent Shepherd's Pie. Not exactly like Keith's but good enough, I'm sure, to get him to shut the fuck up and get his ass on stage. She uses ground beef, onions, garlic, Worcestershire Sauce, Peas, and Mashed Potatoes. I took a healthy scoop and put it on top of White American Cheese. I also put two more slices of cheese over it to make sure it held together. This was a hearty sandwich that could warm the bones of even the most drug ravaged, cold blooded, killer guitarist of any legendary Rock Band...as long as he gets the first bite.
