I saw this online and thought it was so interesting... It's a high school note from Slash (Saul) to his ex-girlfriend... Michelle! They broke up because he talked about hig guitar too much! HA!!!!!
Saul was just 14 when he wrote and illustrated the following letter to Michelle Young; an ex-girlfriend who had just recently ended their relationship and, in a previous letter, blamed the decision on Saul's unending talk of his guitar. The guitar obsession never ended and Saul soon became Slash, one of the world's most admired guitarists and member of Guns N' Roses, whilst Michelle stayed in the picture and after dating Axl Rose in the mid-80s became the subject of My Michelle, a song that frankly spoke of her drug-fuelled lifestyle, her father's career in 'porno' and her mother's death.
Incidentally, the Starwood Club closed down two years later. Quiet Riot however went on to huge success and released an album in 1983 that topped the U.S. charts; unheard of for a heavy metal band.
Transcript follows.
Many thanks - yet again - to Jeff at Hard Rock for supplying the letter. If you haven't yet been, I highly recommend visiting the Hard Rock Memorabilia website to view all manner of fascinating music-related memorabilia. They can also be followed on Facebook. Â

Dear Michele,
Your letter scared me, upon first glance, I hadn't any idea what it was about, but when you told me, it struck in a strange way, I hadn't any idea that I talked about my guitar so often, I'm going to have to change that, no matter who I talk to.
It's a drag that it screwed up our relationship, you should have told me sooner, but I don't think that's the only reason, you just don't like me that much, and I can see why, because I'm a hard person to get along with at times.
But any I'm glad we got that straight, thank you for not lying to me. To get off the subject, you look really nice today, you get prettier & prettier every day. My weekend was pretty good. Steve came by and we went to a couple parties, and we went to the Starwood, I spent pretty much of my weekend on cloud 9 if you know what I mean.
I had never been in the Starwood before, like, we hung around outside, but I've never been inside. It's not such a hot place, I mean the Bands are alright, the girls are pretty (I still think you cuter than any of the girls there) the drugs are cool but it's not a place I would want to waste my life at. The most exciting part of the night was, a guy mouthed off to this black guy, and the black got a hundred friends and chased him around all Hollywood. It's a pretty crazy place. I'm going there next week to see Quiet Riot, because I hear there pretty good. One of these days I'll play there.
Love you
Saul

Blabbermouth reported: STONE TEMPLE PILOTS unveiled their first new album in nine years at a private listening party on Tuesday night (February 23) in New York City. The entire band was in attendance at the event, with The Pulse of Radio's reporter on the scene saying that singer Scott Weiland "looked the best he's looked in a long time." All 12 tracks from the album were aired, with The Pulse of Radio reporter calling the record "a natural, melodic progression for STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, with BEATLES-esque harmonies, a lot of in-your-face, hard-rocking tracks, plenty of guitar solos and some astounding singing from Weiland."
The yet-to-be-titled album, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS 's sixth, will be out June 1.
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS reunited in 2008 after a six-year layoff. The band's last album, "Shangri-La-Dee-Da", came out in 2001.
The PILOTS will also tour throughout the spring and summer, with Weiland hinting in a recent interview that the band might mount its own festival.
The disc will be issued through Atlantic Records, although Weiland told The Pulse of Radio at the time of the band's 2008 reunion tour that he was interested in exploring other options outside the traditional music industry. "When we first talked about putting STP back together, it was do this tour and then see about doing a creative deal with another company, like an all-in deal," he said. "And, you know, if you look at even like RADIOHEAD and a handful of other bands, they make more money doing things in an unconventional fashion as opposed to doing it, you know, with the major labels."
Bassist Robert DeLeo said about the new disc, "Fans are going get a great STP record . . . a really cohesive record with songs that are going to be lasting."
What do you think? Are you excited about the new STP album?

"Rise Up" is CYPRESS HILL's first new album in six years and the first release being issued through Priority/EMI. Priority Records creative chairman Snoop Dogg signed the band to the label. The follow-up to 2004's "Till Death Do Us Part", "Rise Up" was recorded over the course of the past three years at B-Real's studio, The Temple, in Los Angeles.
CYPRESS HILL (emcees B-Real and Sen Dog, DJ Julio G and percussionist Eric Bobo), is one of the most successful and influential hip-hop/rock groups in music history, with more than 18 million worldwide sales, an amazing string of chart-topping hits and an international fanbase whose members number in the millions. They've headlined Lollapalooza, been named "Best Rap Group" by Rolling Stone, collaborated with the likes of PEARL JAM and SONIC YOUTH, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and have had their music licensed for a plethora of TV shows, commercials and films. CYPRESS HILL was also the first Latino hip hop group to be certified platinum.
Well, I held off long enough! I've watched numerous record execs, sales people and DJ's etc. become virtual SLAVES to their PDA's! They've said... Don't get one, it's like CRACK!Â
Nirvana was one of the most influencial bands of the 90's. It spawned the Foo Fighters, Hole and helped the Grunge movement become one of the most loved musical genre's to this day!
With STP back together, AIC finding a new lead singer, Soundgarden reuniting and Pearl Jam going strong... You can't help but think what could have been!
Courtney Love has a new Hole album on the way, and her only child (with Kurt) Frances Bean Cobain announced her signing debut, there's no chance that the legacy of Kurt will soon be forgotten!
Effectively signaling a settling of differences with frontman Steven Tyler that had the other band members threatening to seek another singer -- temporarily, according to guitarist Joe Perry -- Aerosmith will precede its June 13 Download date with an appearance at the Sweden Rock Festival on June 10 in Solvesborg. A U.K. spokeswoman for the band tells Billboard.com that other European dates will be announced shortly.
"There's no Aerosmith without Steven Tyler," notes Download promoter Andy Copping of Live Nation U.K. "There's no point in entertaining anything other than (with) Steven Tyler." Copping adds that an Aerosmith without Tyler "was never part of the conversation" with the group's representatives.
The group has also been offered tour dates in South America, but nothing has been announced yet. No North American shows have been mentioned, and there's also no word on if and when Aerosmith plans to resume work on the new album it was recording in Brendan O'Brien, which was sidelined by Tyler and Perry's health issues.
Tyler has been in rehab since late December for an addiction to painkillers. Perry has been touring with his Joe Perry Project to support his latest album, "Have Guitar, Will Travel," while drummer Joey Kramer has been promoting his autobiography, "Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top." Guitarist Brad Whitford is gearing up for an Experience Hendrix tour that starts March 4 in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Seventeen-year-old Cobain sings on "My Space," which will appear on the eponymous debut album by Evelyn Evelyn, who are made up of Dresden Dolls frontwoman Amanda Palmer and Seattle musician Jason Webley.
Other acts on the track include Tegan & Sara, ex-Hold Steady keyboardist Franz Nicolay, Margaret Cho, Eugene Mirman, and various members of Mindless Self-Indulgence, reports Twentyfourbit.com.
The album Evelyn Evelyn is due to be released on March 30.
In December, Courtney Love lost custody of Frances Bean Cobain.
Well it seems like everyone had a great time yesterday with Theory of a Deadman, Halestorm and Adelitas Way! I had to sleep in... It was a late night last night... More on that later!
It all started at Jillians for a pre-concert party! The bands were all very excited to play ping pong, pool foos ball, and especially to BOWL! It's like they never bowled before! They couldn't wait to put on the ugly shoes! All of the bands arrived to the private room filled with food, booze and lucky WAAF winners! It was a perfect storm, and it was only 4pm... I knew it was going to be a late night... More on that later! :)
Adelitas Way was bowling for bragging rights, but I was able to pull them away long enough to talk to them about being some of the 'newbies' on the tour! Lead singer Rick Dejesus (who has the biggest feet I have ever seen) was talking about how thin his blood is, since he moved from Philly to VEGAS! He cannot handle the cold! He did the entire show in his P-coat!
Halestorm walked in and all of the guys were immediatley all over LZZY! This chick is NUTS!!! She started doing shots as soon as she got there! They were all joking around and cracking jokes... at my expense mostly :) They were really funny talking about the male 'groupie' experience and how LZZY get's more attention from the girls than they do! They are all very jealous! You would be too!
Theory of a Deadman is a strange band... They have been on the road for 2 years on this album, and they are all still getting along like brothers! That's a LONG time to be in a bus with a bunch of other dudes! These guys were all over the bowling! Lead singer Tyler was an illegal bowler... He wanted to wear his Chuck's... I told him I was going to tell on him! He said "to who? The BOWLING POLICE???"
All of the interviews will be posted online as soon as we get them together... I told you that the party got out of control!
Once we moved to the HOB, the show got started! Adelitas Way did a great job of warming up the crowd! When Halestorm came out to LZZY SCREAMING the place went nuts! If you haven't seen them yet... You'll love the drum solo!!! They were really tight, energetic and those shots that LZZY did earlier at Jillians didn't hurt her amazing voice one bit!
Theory of a Deadman wes awesome! The did a cover of Got Me Wrong from AIC unplugged! During Bad Girlfriend we saw 2 people having sex in the front row! Thank you to Boston Bruin Shawn Thornton for the new term... "Front Row F*cking"! Yup, you heard me right, a bunch of the B's showed up to cheer on the Theory guys... Those Canadians need to stick together!
The best part of the entire night happened after the show. The B's and the Theory guys ended up on the tour bus, Milan Lucic took control of the iPod and a debate began over what Pearl Jam song was the best! I think if puch came to shove... The B's would have won that fight!
From the Bruins... Milan Lucic, Johnny Boychuk,  Shawn Thornton, and Tuukka Rask
