There couldn't be 2 more polar opposites this election year than Kid Rock & Sean Penn. They are on opposite sides of the voting booth, and like most of America, they are split right down the middle. They have shot insults back and forth in the press over the years about the war... But, one thing brings them together... They are both Americans.
I can't tell you how sick I am of the commercials, facebook status updates, tweets, and opinions from both sides. It's ripping this nation apart, and sometimes I think that's EXACTLY what the extreme left and extreme right want... And most Americans fall somewhere in the middle. As citizens we know what it's like to compromise... But in DC, they don't even know how to spell it! I love this country more than anything, and after my trips overseas to Iraq & Afghanistan, I was even more convinced that I was so lucky to be born a girl in the USA! If I had been born anywhere else on Earth, I would be lucky to still be alive. Sometimes Americans need a reminder of how lucky we are. Our country may not be perfect, but we're free to say that out loud and do something about it!
Well, leave it to Kid Rock and Sean Penn, two opposites, who are both living the American dream, to remind us of how lucky we all are!
This movie will make you laugh, but more importantly, it should make you think!
Matt Cameron may be the busiest man in music! He was the drummer in Soundgarden, and the band broke up. So, Matt got a job with another legandary band that you may know... Pearl Jam! Then in 2010, Soundgarden announced that they were getting back together. Rather than leave Pearl Jam, Matt is somehow balancing 2 bands, while being married with kids! 2 bands, 2 tours... and lots to talk about! What about a Pearl Jam, Soundgarden tour with Temple of the Dog? Is Pearl Jam playing Fenway Park in September? What clubs did Matt love to play in Boston? When is the new Soundgarden album coming out?
Click below to listen to the interview and find out the answers to those questions and more!
He'll be talking about his new solo album AVALON along with Lisa Guyer
I know we'll be talking about his new music, what's next for Godsmack, and what it's like to sing the National Anthem at Gillette Stadium! (yes Christina, he got the words right!)
So, am I the only person that has never watched an episode of American Idol? Judging by the ratings, I just might be! Well, the show is relaunching tonight with 2 new judges... Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith's own, STEVEN TYLER!
With all of the Aerosmith drama over the last couple of years, with Steven's addiction relapse, the band looking for a new singer, the fighting backstage at Fenway etc... Idol didn't come at a great time. Or did it?
The argument can be made (and has been by Kid Rock) that there is NOTHING Rock 'n' Roll about being a judge on American Idol. It's a glorified karaoke night, but with no egg rolls. But, with the success of some of the artists that have come off of that show like Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry and Kelly Clarkson it's obvious that there is SOME talent on this show.
On the other hand, this could be good for Aerosmith. They could be introduced to an entire new fan base, with Steven Tyler now in millions of homes every week on one of the most popular TV shows in the US. That could help the band set up the new album that they are supposedly working on while American Idol is taping in LA, and could help them sell more concert tickets and downloads of their older music, to this new found fan base.
But, what if it doesn't work? What if no one tunes in? What if they tune in and Steven and J-LO suck? What then? Does it hurt Aerosmith? Does anyone care either way? I guess we'll find out tonight when the new season premieres, won't we? Does this mean that I have to watch it now? I just may have to tune in... UGH! What does that say about me? Do I lose my 'rock credibility' if I watch 'Idol' tonight?
What do you think?
The good thing about this, is that Steven Tyler has been doing tons of press for the show, including this from last night on Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy has been doing these skits with all different types of artists, and they have all been great... Including this one. It's Jimmy with The Roots and Steven Tyler doing 'Walk This Way' RUN DMC style! Enjoy!
"The Dropkick Murphys' seventh album Going Out In Style is the story of Cornelius, an Irish immigrant in America. The record begins with the character's raucous Irish wake and then flashes back to the beginning of his story, covering all the major moments in his extraordinary life along the way. That may sound a bit dry, but the music itself is exactly the sort of high-energy sing-along punk fans have come to expect from this long-running Boston band."
Foo Fighters want YOU to direct their next music video.
Foo Fighters have worked with some of the top directors in the business including Michel Gondry, Mark Pellington, Jesse Peretz, Sam Brown & The Malloys. But now itâs your turn. The band is giving 11 aspiring directors the opportunity to create a music video for a song from their new album which drops this spring. The videos will premiere on Fuse.
This could be your big break. So what are you waiting for? Upload your reel and show us what youâve got!"
Yup, the year is almost over. And you just got over the hangover from LAST New Years Eve!
It's that time when people start making lists... Best album of the year, best song of the year, best video... and so on. And instead of giving you my list, I want yours!
It's open to anything...
Best album of the year!
Favorite song of the year (please add studip, drunken memory associated with the song, so we can all laugh at you)
OK, I have a question for you...
If a member of ROCK royalty does a song with one of the biggest POP stars in the world, should we play it?
As WAAF's Music Director, this is something that I'm not sure about. Yes,  we play the Beastie Boys, and Cypress Hill, and House of Pain but those artists and songs have become classic Rock party songs over the years...
But when a guy like Slash does a song with Fergie, and the song ROCKS... Should we play it?
She made a name for herself as a Black Eyed Pea, and then she became 'The Dutchess' for he solo career...
But when she's with Slash, she becomes one scary, badass bitch! A woman after my own heart!
Check out this video, and then tell me what you think...
Should WAAF play 'Beautiful Dangerous'?
I'm still trying to recover from 48 hours in a rock stars life! It's hard work! Planes, limos, parties, courtside seats, political rallies and Jessica Rabbit. DAMN!
Here's what I can remember!
Kid Rock invited a few radio people from around the country, that have been there "since the beginning", to attend his private Halloween party. I was honored to be included in that group. We've been friends for a very long time. Since the Warped Tour before Devil Without A Cause came out. It's been a crazy ride... more crazy for him than me... But anyway.
I took off from Logan on Friday afternoon around 2pm.
Landed in Detroit around 4...
After battling Downtown Detroit traffic for almost 2 hours, we checked into the hotel, dropped our bags, and headed to the Pistons Game. Kid Rock was being presented with a banner for selling out the arena 21 times! He was also given permanent court side seats!
We were escorted into the Presidents club (very fancy) for drinks and food before the game. Drinks included Kid's very own beer,Badass American Lagar!
We were also given gift bags from the Pistons with t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts etc. I felt a little dirty thinking about putting on a Pistons shirt... I have to be honest! But, they say... "When In Rome" right?
I don't want to hear that I am a traitor! I am a Celtics fan to the CORE!!! I put it on, with the agreement that Kid Rock would sign it, and take a picture, so that we could auction it off for charity! Which he did!
Hopefully we'll raise some money for charity with this!
After all of the American Badass beer and Jim Beam that we could drink, we were escorted COURTSIDE for the game!
These seats don't suck!!!!
After the game (which they lost by 1 point with 2.5 seconds left in the game) we headed back to the hotel... to close down the bar and take in a little local culture!
Kid Rock headed to DC for the Daily Show's Rally to Restore Sanity!
While he was hanging with Jon Stewart and Cheryl Crow, I went shopping and bought this KILLER hat!
Before I knew it, it was time to hit the party! I went dressed as the 'Corpse Bride' in my old wedding dress!
A big change from my wedding day just a couple of years ago huh?
The party was in this HUGE warehouse where the band practices, and where he keeps all of his gear and cars!
I took some car pics for you!
He's got one of the General Lee's from the Dukes of hazard TV show!
And a Ford GT
And this BADASS Firebird!
After I spent the first 30 minutes drinking and checking out his cars, someone went on stage and introduced the Village People! It was Kid Rock (as the cop) and the Twisted Brown Trucker band in costumes!
They wouldn't let me video the performance... But I got some great photos!
Did i forget to mention the 'dancers'???
The band played the entire new album 'Born Free' which is coming out on November 16.
And it's exactly what you would expect! It's got something in there for everybody! Especially if you are a 40 year old guy! Since he turned 40, he wanted to write a song about that, it's called F*ckin' Forty and it's funny!
After the band finished, it was time to party!!!
And we did a lot of that! I think I was dancing!!! And I NEVER DANCE! EVER!
Before long it was time to get in the photo booth!
Then I got some company! (after he finished hanging out with some HOT redhead dressed like Jessica Rabbit! She wasn't bad, she was just drawn that way!)
The next morning I needed something to eat before my flight home!
YUMMY!
48 hours in the life of Kid Rock, and I am still recovering!
He is in Europe for the MTV awards and I am just trying to figure out how he does it!
Best Halloween EVER!
The video is here!!! Check it out!
Â
Â
And check out the new video for Born Free! See the car? Look familiar? :)
October is my favorite month of the year... It starts with my Birthday on the 1st, and ends with my favorite 'holiday' HALLOWEEN!
You've known me long enough to know that I LOVE HALLOWEEN! Everything about it is great! Candy, scary music, costumes, skulls and spiders everywhere and there is no pressure of gift giving!
It's the only time of year that I look "normal"! :)
And of course, every November 1, I get asked "What did you go as for Halloween? Why is your hair purple? Have you tried to get it out?" It's like I'm in costume every day!
Â
In years past, I've had some great costumes... Most of them custom made by Angela Zampell at Mode Merr. She is awesome!Â
But this year, there is an added pressure!!!
I just got invited to Kid Rock's Halloween Party in Detroit! It's a weekend long bash that, I hear, is going to be INSANE!!!
So, what do I do now??? What the hell am I supposed to be? What should I wear?
I have 2 weeks before I take off for Michigan, and I am desperate.!
So, I thought that I would turn to you!!!
I've been Marilyn Monroe (both dead and alive), a skydiver, a librarian (nobody even knew it was me! HA!), a samurai warrior, Medusa, and I've even had people dress as ME!
Â
I was thinking of taking my red wedding dress, and turiing it into a 'Vampire Bride' costume...
Plus, it's a great excuse to wear it again! :)
Â
What do you think??? I need some ideas and I need them FAST! This party is going to be NUTS, and I can only imagine what people are going to be dressing like...
By the way, I am taking a camera and video gear with me... I'll have a full recap of this bash when I get back... IF I get back!
It's time to shake off the gloves, grab the jersey, and have a good ol' fashioned brawl over the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees list!
Every year we preface this fight with the statement that music is an art that is IMPOSSIBLE to judge! It's something that means different things to different people. It's subjective, and therefor should not be 'voted on'.
Whew... Now that we've got that out of the way...
Let's judge shall we???
Here is the list of nominees for the Class of 2011. The inductees will be announced in December.
Kid Rock, Aaron Lewis and Finger Eleven also came into town for the big celebration, but they all left Boston after the party was over... but not Papa Roach!
They had the choice to spend the night in Boston, or travel to their next show a day early in Chicago! They chose to hang out in Beantown! So, I pulled some strings with the jocks down the hall, and got 4 tickets next to the Red Sox dugout at Fenway. I offered them up to Jacoby &Â Jerry from PR and their tour manager Eddie who has been a friend of mine for the last 10 years. I assumed that they would use the 4th ticket to invite someone from the record label etc, but instead they asked me to go. I said yes of course.
It should be noted that these tickets are very tough to get and very expensive if you could buy them (not sure WHy you would ever sell them if they were yours!  I kissed a ton of ass to get them!)  The surrounding seats are filled with a mixture of 'suits' trying to close business deals, and old time fans who have had these season tickets for decades... We obviously did not fit in! I think the quote of the night was "a turd in a punchbowl!" Gotta love it!
I met the guys in the seats after my show. But before they could arrive, a beer vendor came over to ask me if LB was joining me! HA! Once Jacoby, with his eyeliner and facial tattoos, Jerry and Eddie got here, the whispers started. I'm sure some people thought that we must have mugged someone for the tickets... Before long, we were the novelty of the section. "Hey, lets talk to the freaks sitting behind us"
Being from Cali (Jacoby & Jerry) and Florida, (Eddie) they were getting a bit chilly when the sun went down, but for me and everyone else at the game, it was a perfect night at the ball park.
They started asking questions about the park, and like any good Red Sox fan... I knew the answers. I explained the red seat, the monster, Pesky's pole, and the 406 club. Jacoby explained that the only baseball player that he could name was Wade Boggs, so that must make him a Sox fan right? When David Ortiz got on deck right in front of us, they laughed as people called him "Papi". Well that was it, Jacoby can now name 2 players Boggs and Papi. He spent the rest of the night, regardless of who was up to bat, yelling 'Aye Papi' very funny!
I forced them to order a Fenway Frank, warned them about the bathrooms, and giggled during the 7th inning stretch because they didn't understand why everyone was standing up. But, the highlight of the night came during the 8th inning. "Sweet Caroline" is a traditon at Fenway, and YES I am aware that it's a weird one. They asked "why does everyone in Boston love Neil Diamond so much?" I explained, that by the time the 8th comes around, most people are so drunk that the only thing they can sing is... "Ba Ba Ba and So Good, So Good"
After the first go around, I decided to go first and make an ass out of myself... BIG surprise... I started singing, in my awful... sick, raspy voice. They all laughed at me! But, they jumped in with me... We looked like idiots! But, it was awesome! They talked about learning the song for their show at the Palladium in October (click here for details). So, if you are going to the show, don't be surprised if your hear a rock version of Sweet Caroline, and Jacoby yelling 'Aye Papi"!
(Jacoby, me, Eddie and Jerry)
Thanks for a great night guys! I just wish that the Red Sox could have won it for you!
Slash came into Boston last night to destroy the House of Blues... And, I haven't checked yet this morning, but I wouldn't be surprised if the building is gone! He started his day in beantown with the tweet "@Slash F*ck, Boston is a pretty city."
Taddy Porter and Tab the Band did a great job of getting the sold out crowd worked up, but when Slash came out... It was VERY clear who everyone was there to see! Slash took the stage (ON TIME) and from 'note one', made that guitar his BITCH!!!!! They started with Ghost off of the new solo album, and like a runaway train... it just kept getting faster and more intense! Myles Kennedy is the closest thing to vocal perfection that can be found! He was able to shift gears from classic GNR songs, to Slash's Snake Pit songs, to Velvet Revolver songs, to new Slash songs, and even an Alterbridge song seamlessly... Man can that guy sing! The real treat of the night, was the old GNR songs that we all know and love! They were perfect! Myles hit every note, and so did Slash! It should be noted that Slash's band are no slouches either! If you closed your eyes, you could almost confuse their performance with the original GNR in their heyday! Of course, it's minus the late start, the lead singer tantrums, the riots, and the fights with fans etc! Instead, you got 2+ hours of 5 guys on stage doing what they love... and it showed!
Nightrain showed the crowd that they were in for a night filled with classics, Civil War was only missing the 'failure to communicate' intro, Rocket Queen wad 'dead on balls', the first note of Sweet Child O' Mine sent chills down your spine from the first, infamous note. Finishing with My Michelle into Paradise City sent everyone home wondering what decade it was.
The look on the faces of the fans 25 and under was hilarious! They've never seen GNR as they once were... They've grown up with the music, but have only been exposed to the shell that once was GNR. (I like to call it 'braids N buckets')  It was like watching 2000+ people have an epiphany simultaneously! I felt like screaming "Yes, that is what it is supposed to sound like!"
Nuggets of Snake Pit, new songs and Velvet Revolver classics made the set interesting and diverse. I loved Fall To Pieces! But, when they started playing Rise Today from Myles's band Alterbridge, I was impressed! Slash's lack of ego, allowed the bright spotlight to be shown on someone other than himself! That NEVER would have happened if Axl were anywhere around Boston!
They played until after midnight, and left me sad that it was over. That almost never happens anymore. No beer swilling, no falling down, no mistakes, no egos... just Rock N Roll in its purest state. I think the broken guitar string count was at 6, at the end of the show. Hendrix, Vaughn, Iommi, Van Halen, Page and the like would have been impressed by the clinic that Slash put on last night. He is a Guitar Hero, in the true definition.
Slash left Beantown with this tweet "@slash Goodnight Boston! Always a rockin' time in Beantown! Man, I wish we could have hung out longer. Iii|; (,"
We do too Slash, we do too!
I need a nap!

I interviewed Chris Cornell when he was a member of Audioslave and as a solo artist, but Soundgarden was long gone by the time I started on the air at WAAF. Out of the grunge bands, I always gravitated to the heavier one's: Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam. We got AIC back, even after losing Layne, and Pearl Jam never left... But Soundgarden held out and made us sweat for long enough! They're back!
I talked to Chris today about a lot of things... How the reunion took place, why the band broke up, when they are touring, Temple of the Dog reuniting with pearl Jam on tour, what's up with the new music, how Nirvana got all of the credit for the grunge movement, why people tweet about pooping and so much more!
I'm not really sure what he can do to top what's he's already done... But, Kid Rock has finished a new album and it will be here soon!
Here's the press release!
KID ROCK UPS THE ANTE WITH âBORN FREEâ
NEW STUDIO ALBUM DUE NOVEMBER 16th ON ATLANTIC RECORDSÂ
NEW YORK, NY â Kid Rock will release his 8th studio album, âBorn Free,â on November 16th via Atlantic Records. The record was produced by Rick Rubin and mixed by Greg Fidelman.  The first single from the album will be, appropriately, âBorn Freeâ which hits radio September 14th.  âBorn Freeâ is in many ways a transformational album for Kid Rock. While there is still the edge, wit, and swagger of previous albums, he doesnât rap, thereâs no metal â there isnât even a parental warning sticker.  Says Kid Rock, âThe catalyst for this record was Detroit, and my thoughts on the world through the lens of Detroit.  Watching everything go downhill over the past few years, the economy, the loss of jobs everywhere, I wanted to make a record that reflected the times but that still had soul."
The bulk of the album was recorded live in a two week span in Los Angeles with a stellar cast of musicians including Heartbreaker Benmont Tench, Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith, David Hidalgo from Los Lobos and Chavez guitarist Matt Sweeney. Studios in Detroit, Nashville and Atlanta were used to incorporate collaborations with Bob Seger, Sheryl Crow, Zac Brown, Trace Adkins, and in a pairing surely never to be replicated â T.I. and Martina McBride on the track âCare.â Kid Rock and Rick Rubin, as friends, have spent many hours talking about their respective histories â starting in hip-hop, crossing into and creating new territories â as well as the need for a great new American classic rock record that challenges the field. âBorn Freeâ is in part the result of those conversations â an album that is meant to be played from start to finish.
Kid Rockâs last album âRock âN Roll Jesus,â released in 2007, debuted at #1 and stayed in the charts for 100 weeks, becoming the biggest selling Rock album of 2008. His hit single âAll Summer Longâ hit #1 in 8 countries and provided Kid Rock the opportunity to expand his huge touring base outside of America.   Kid Rock has a unique ability to genre-hop, marking his territory everywhere. He hosted last years CMT Awards (whose ratings rose 19% over the previous year) and performed at events ranging from the Grammyâs to the VMAâs,EMAâs and CMAâs to the Hip Hop Honors.  He has performed for and visited troops overseas numerous times, and remains one of entertainments most vocal supporters of our soldiers abroad. In the past year he has entered into a unique partnership with Jim Beam, while at the same time expanding his philanthropic efforts through his own Kid Rock Foundation.
The appearances scheduled to promote âBorn Freeâ will be revealed shortly, in addition to tour activities.
I got this press release today, and it made me happy!
I can't wait to see this concert!

TO RELEASE (sic)nesses DVD ON SEPTEMBER 28
Â
JUNE 2009 DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE IN FRONT OF 80,000  FANS CAPTURED IN ITS ENTIRETY
Â
MEMORABLE CONCERT IS ALSO ONE OF THE FINAL MAJOR  PERFORMANCES OF LATE BASSIST PAUL GRAY
Â
New York, NY: On June 13, 2009, SLIPKNOTheadlined the annual Download Festival in the UK, performing in front of 80,000 of their rabid fans. The performance was absolutely electric, in typical Slipknot fashion, especially since it came hot on the heels of one of the strongest years in Slipknotâs illustrious career.
Â
It was indeed a year of âfirstsâ for a band that was a decade-deep into their hard rock superstardom and dominance.Their latest album, 2008âs All Hope is Gone, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts âthe first time in their history. Slipknot embarked on a two-year touring trek that was globally successful, playing to packed houses across continents, including their headlining stint at New York Cityâs legendary Madison Square Garden, which was stacked to the rafters and chronicled by Rolling Stone.
Â
It makes perfect sense that the band, known for their eclectic DVD collection, ranging from multi-camera angle concert documents to arthouse-style films, would release (sic)nesses, which captures a special performance at Download. All Slipknot shows are memorable, but this one is particularly memorable, as the band blasted through hits from all of their Platinum albums. On stage is Slipknot in its most natural state and (sic)nesses will put you in the front row.
Â
30 cameras were on hand to capture every possible angle of the band as they motored through their parade of hits; the cameras also caught the fans on tape, as they are just as crucial an element of a Slipknot show as the band members themselves.
Â
Perhaps most importantly, (sic)nesses is one of the final major performances for founding member Paul Gray, who tragically passed away in May 2010. While initially unintended, the concert is a testament to the legacy of Gray, where fans can enjoy a lasting glimpse of the bassist doing what he loved most.Â
Â
Additionally, the DVD also includes a 45-minute behind the scenes documentary created by band percussionist Clown, as well as all four music videos from the All Hope Is Gone cycle.
Â
Lastly, All Hope is Gone has gained Platinum status, capping off a passionate, turbulent and ultimately unforgettable album cycle.

Maybe it's because I can understand him... And, maybe it's because I love British humor. But maybe, it's because he's Rock 'N' Roll royalty and it's an honor to speak with him!
We talked about Ozzfest, his tremors, Sharon, if he would take the American Idol job and the Pope's nuts! With Ozzy, you never know what you are going to get!

Posted on Blabbermouth:
SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell told USA Today that "Black Rain" captures "that super heavy version (of the band) we were finally realizing to its fullest potential about 1991."
"Black Rain" will be included on new SOUNGARDEN hits collection called "Telephantasm", which is due on September 28.
The set will be bundled exclusively for one week with copies of Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock, marking the first time that a full-length music retail CD has been made available as part of a video game package.
Cornell said that the partnership with Guitar Hero is a way to re-introduce the band â which broke up 13 years ago â to new audiences, explaining, "There are a lot of different ways to get your music out (and) . . . this clearly to me is one way to do that. Guitar Hero has actually turned on a lot of young music fans to music that they otherwise might not have ever heard."
Expanded editions of "Telephantasm" will also be available on September 28.
Cornell told USA Today in his first interview since SOUNDGARDEN reunited earlier this year that the group is taking its return one day at a time, saying, "I think our goal now is to do what we always wanted to do, which is to â at our own pace and in our own time â just do what we want when we want to do it. Whether it's shows, songs, whatever it might be, records, we'll know when we get there."
SOUNDGARDEN's gig at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago was only its third gig since the reunion was announced in January.
Lollapalooza is happening this weekend in Chicago! And, if you didn't book your flight and buy your tickets WAY in advance... I guess you're not going, right? WRONG!!! You can watch the show LIVE, online!
Godsmack frontman Sully Erna will offer a new solo album that has been seven years in the making. The record, dubbed Avalon, will be in stores on September 14, with the first single, "Sinner's Prayer," arriving at radio on August 3. The album will feature an array of guest players - such as classically trained cellist Irina Chirkova and percussionist Niall Gregory of Dead Can Dance - and Erna stresses that it is not a Rock record.hand drums, cellos, flutes and piano, making it very different from his signature sound with Godsmack.
"I truly believe that this is my best work to date. I'm more proud of this record than any other music I have ever recorded," Erna wrote in a blog on Godsmack's MySpace page. "It is so pure and organic, every ounce of my blood, sweat and tears has been poured into this body of work. Without a doubt, I have completely exposed myself in this album. More importantly, it's just a very cool musical journey you go on when you listen through. Although, as I've said before, I must emphasize that THIS IS NOT A ROCK RECORD! This is a series of beautifully arranged compositions that I have created over many years. Some compositions are newer, written with the help of my solo band mates. Others have been shelved over time waiting for the right moment to be released. That moment is finally here, and I couldn't be more proud to share it with all of you!"
Erna goes on to explain that the album was recorded with instruments such as
"It is very eclectic and intellectual. It is something that you will want to put on when you're in the mood to lie on your couch, dim the lights, and light all your candles and incense," he wrote. "Just vibe out to this hypnotic variety of music, and enjoy the pictures that will be painted in your mind. This is a very visual record, so for sure the visuals will come. Don't be surprised if it triggers some deep emotions within you based on your own life situations. Either way, enjoy the ride, it's a beautiful one!"
What do you think about a Sully solo album? Will you buy it even though it's very different from Godsmack?
As I told you last week, Linkin Park are releasing a new album on September 14, called A Thousand Suns. It was co-produced by Rick Rubin and LP's Mike Shinoda. The first single is called The Catalyst! We got the new song today, so keep listening for it.
The song is also going to be featured in the new Medal of Honor video game, which will hit store on 10/12.

Sully Erna has been busy lately! With The Oracle debuting at #1 on the Billboard chart (the 3rd straight time for Godsmack) and a tour that is sure to follow... What is going on with the rumored solo album that he recorded?
You may have noticed that  if you buy the deluxe edition of The Oracle on iTunes... You get a bonus track! It's a song called The Departed featuring Sully and Lisa Guyer.
Check it out below!
This quote was posted on the official Sully Erna facebook page on January 27, 2010. "Â SOLO RECORD is also coming this year. Looking like an August release for the entire CD.
This record is by far the best music i've ever written, and i really look forward to all of you hearing it. And i really look forward to introducing Lisa Guyer (my singer on this record) to all of you. Girls, you are gonna love her voice. AMAZING!!!
I put everything i know into this record and it is truly a timeless, beautiful piece of art. Completely opposite of what Godsmack does, but nevertheless, very beautiful record. So when you're not in the mood to crank up and drive 100 mph, this is the record you're going to want to put on when you need to just zone out and enjoy some wine and candles. Have fun with it!!
I will keep you all posted as we get closer to releasing it. But what i know for now is, the first single titled:
"THE DEPARTED" will be coming out in March attached to a movie called "SOLOMON KANE".
And then the follow up single titled "SINNER'S PRAYER" will be attached to the new Sylvester Stallone movie called, "THE EXPENDIBLES". I believe that single should hit radio by July with the release of the movie and the entire solo record in August."
With July almost over, August is shaping up to be a BIG month in music.
Linkin Park released the news about their new song and upcoming studio album... The new song is called The Catalyst from the album A Thousand Suns which will be released in many forms, including a HUGE boxed set! Listen for The Catalyst on Tuesday on WAAF!
The song will also be featured (along with other LP music) on the new EA game medal of Honor which is being released in October.
Check out the new game!

Lead singer Brandon Boyd is releasing a solo album.
Here's the press release!
INCUBUSâ BRANDON BOYD RELEASES SOLO ALBUM, THE WILD TRAPEZE INCUBUS HEADS BACK INTO THE STUDIO     New York, NY â With a career thatâs spanned almost two decades, six albums, a handful of EPâs and DVDâs and a Greatest Hits album which has chronicled it all under his belt as lead singer of the multi-platinum selling band Incubus, Brandon Boyd and Epic Records are pleased to announce the July 6th release of Brandonâs first solo album entitled, The Wild Trapeze. Fans can purchase a limited edition CD that ships with a personal letter and T-shirt featuring hand drawn artwork by Brandon at www.thewildtrapeze.com. The album is also exclusively available digitally on the iTunes Store.    âThis group of songs was born of a very different process than the many my band and I have been employing for our almost two decades at work now. The Wild Trapeze began as pot induced meanderings on my dusty acoustic guitar while Incubus was off of the road, and has slowly been morphing into things that I originally could never have imagined , " says Brandon Boyd. âSo much of my identity, both personally and creatively has been attached to and related to Incubus. For better or worse! And I do believe that every person in every corner of the world asks themselves at some point on their ride, âWho am Iâ¦today?âThe Wild Trapeze is an exercise in self reliance." In keeping with Brandonâs vision to make this album his very own and what Brandon calls âMusic for Musicâs Sakeâ, he controlled the making of The Wild Trapeze. Brandon penned every track off the album and performed practically every instrument heard. He designed the albumâs artwork and co-directed the video for track, âRunaway Trainâ (available at music.AOL.com today) with esteemed photographer Brantley Gutierrez. When it came to producing the album, Brandon could think of no one better suited for the task than renowned producer, Dave Fridmann (MGMT, The Flaming Lips) and set forth to record the album in Upstate NY over the past few months.
Up next for Brandon Boyd, another Incubus studio album. The quintet that is Incubus (vocalist Brandon Boyd, guitarist Mike Einziger, bassist Ben Kenney, DJ Chris Kilmore and drummer Jose Pasillas) will head back into the studio later this summer to begin writing and recording a new studio album, tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release.Â
Pearl Jam have made a video for the song 'Amoungst the Waves' which will be availible on iTunes 7/6. They are releasing the video to raise money for Conservation International's Ocean Campaign.
And Buckcherry made a video for their song 'Our World' and debuted it on Larry King. Here is the official statement from Lead singer Josh Todd.
"As musicians who have the benefit of the spotlight from time to time, we feel it is our duty to aid in raising awareness and financial support to help remedy the awful situation in the Gulf Of Mexico.
I see what's happening on the news everyday and how it only gets worse. Â IÂ think of my future and my children's future and we need to do something. Â My band, Buckcherry, wrote a song called "Our World" for our upcoming album. Â The song touches upon the environmental crisis that plagues the world every day.
A few weeks after writing and recording the song, the oil spill occurred.  We recently went back into the studio to re-write the lyrics based on what was happening in the Gulf.  We released this version exclusively on iTunes and are donating the proceeds to those affected by this disaster.  People can also visit www.buckcherry.com to donate to the cause.
It is so important that each and every one of us do what we can to help those out whose lives have been harshly impacted by the oil spill."
Guitar legend Carlos Santana, took his friend music mogul Clive Davis' advice and recently recorded an album of cover songs! They are not just any cover songs either... They are all ROCK CLASSICS, recorded with current rock superstars!
This album sounds like it is going to be AWESOME!
Included in the line up are...
Rob Thomas on Cream's Sunshine of Your Love, Joe Cocker on Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing, Scott Weiland on the Rolling Stones' Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Chris Daughtry on Def Leppard's Photograph, Chris Cornell on Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, Papa Roach's Jacoby Shaddix on Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water and Nas on AC/DC's Back in Black.
Which one do you think is going to be the best?
The album is due out in September and Santana said " I was like, 'No, I don't know if I want to do this one, Clive. This one's a little challenging.' And he would stay on the phone for at least 45 minutes to an hour, three times in one year, and I was like, 'Oh, lordâ¦' But then I started realizing that someone with that intense passion of commitment couldn't be wrong, so I had to trust him. And it was incredible"
He added "What I brought to the table is my heart, knowing that I complement, I don't compete. I brought my heart, trusting that there's enough in me of purity and innocence and genuineness that I couldn't possible, excuse the expression, fuck it up. I know Eric (Clapton). I know Jeff Beck. I know Jimmy Page. And they know me. I have supreme certainty and confidence that they're going to say, 'Hey man, I love what you did with my song."
These songs are going to be PERFECT for Under the Covers which airs on WAAF every weeknight at 10pm!
If you have a request for Under the Covers send it to us here!
We've been playing their classic songs for years!!! You still request them and obviously still love them, so why wouldn't the band want to get back together and make a new album?!?
Like many other bands of their era like Candlebox, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and STP... Bush have reunited and are releasing a new album titled 'Everything Always Now' in October! They'll be playing their first show together in 8 years in California in September!
Be listening for new music and a Boston concert date soon on WAAF!
What do you think? Are you excited about Bush getting back together?
It may not seem like much, in the grand scheme of things... But at least the guys from Korn are doing what they can. Check out the press release that I got today about their summer tour.
Have you done the same thing? Are you boycotting BP? Will you buy gas from there now, or ever again after the situation in the Gulf?
Let me know what you think!

 KORN
BOYCOTT USE OF BP OIL ON BUSES/VEHICLES
DURING SUMMER TOURING SEASON
New York, NY: Motivated by the BP disaster and its devastating effects, heavy rock outfit KORN, who have sold more than 30 million records worldwide, take a stand by launching a boycott against using the companyâs gasoline while on tour this summer. The band has formally announced that it will not be fueling any of its touring vehicles with BP products and is strongly encouraging other touring artists to do the same.Â
âThe daily images are hard to watch,â says Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. âWe need to do our part to let BP know there are consequences for causing something like this. We want to send a message to corporations like BP so that they will take more preventative measures in the future. The more costly their punishment, the more money they will spend to make sure disasters like this donât happen again. Itâs plain and simple capitalism.âÂ
In a timely coincidence of life imitating art, Kornâs new album artwork, photography and stage set imagery reference the bandâs hometown area near Bakersfield, CA and its bleak landscape littered with oil rigs. The video for the first single âOildale (Leave Me Alone)â reveals a poverty-stricken area situated among the rich oil fields and tells a story of a young boyâs desire to escape. The video story echoes the bandâs own struggle out of Bakersfield. Davis adds, âIt was one thing for us to grow up near such poverty. But the situation in the Gulf takes things to a whole new level where peopleâs lives and livelihoods are affected forever.âÂ
Korn will spend their summer as a headliner on the third annual Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival playing in 14,000 to 30,000 seat amphitheaters. âWe urge the other acts on Mayhem and anyone on tour this year to be with us on this,â Davis also said.
Korn is touring to support their upcoming album, due out July 13, 2010. The title, Korn III â Remember Who You Are, is a reference to the bandâs past and is a nod to their roots.
According to online sources, this Pearl Jam song is a leftover track from Riot Act. PJ's manager Kelly Curtis, sent it out through a 'guy named Pete'. It all sounds a little weird, but the PJ guys are always doing something out of the ordinary. Good thing for us, because we get to hear this song. It's called Better Days. Enjoy!
Everyone is still healing after the death of Slipknot's bass player Paul Gray, so I'm sure it's going to be a little tough for Corey and Jim to get back out on the road with Stone Sour. I got this press release today about the upcoming album and tour!
STONE SOUR ANNOUNCE SEPTEMBER 7 RELEASE DATE FOR AUDIO SECRECYÂ
BAND OFFERS FANS SNEAK PREVIEW WITH NEW SONG âMISSION STATEMENTâ
Â
STONE SOUR TOURING U.S. THIS SUMMER WITH UPROAR FESTIVAL
New York, NY: Â Three-time Grammy nominees STONE SOUR have announced a September 7th release date for their much-buzzed-about new album Audio Secrecy. Â âIt's probably the best thing I've done in a long time," lead singer Corey Taylor recently told MTV News. "We recorded 18 songs â and knowing that every tune not only has its own identity but is damn good, I'm very, very proud of that."Â
The band is giving fans a sneak preview of the album by offering a limited-time download of a new song titled âMission Statement.â Says Taylor, "In this day and age, it's important to be strong enough to know who you are. This song is not only a rallying cry for us, but it says everything about what this album means to us. This is just the beginning."
âMission Statementâ will be available for 48 hours only beginning this Thursday, June 10th at 11am EST. The track can be downloaded at www.stonesour.com.
The albumâs first commercial single will be âSay Youâll Haunt Me,â which ships to modern rock and rock radio on Tuesday, July 6th.
Â
Stone Sour (Taylor, guitarists James Root and Josh Rand, bassist Shawn Economaki and drummer Roy Mayorga) and producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Deftones) recorded Audio Secrecy at Blackbird Studios in Nashville during the destructive storms and devastating floods that hit the historic heart of Music City.
Â
âRecording during the flood was crazy,â says Taylor. âLuckily the studio and the band weren't affected too greatly. The studio was untouched and the neighborhood we were living in just missed being flooded. But a lot of the areas around us were decimated. Whole houses were submerged and for a week, the roads in and out of Old Hickory were completely covered with water. I've been getting the word out to people to contact Nashville Flood Relief if they would like to donate money to help the people of Nashville. Also, they can contact the Gibson Foundation (www.gibsonfoundation.org) to do the same. We were lucky, but so many people were not. I hope can pull together and do what we can for Nashville.â
Â
While making the album, Stone Sour has been taping webisodes covering the recording process and answering fan questions. They can be viewed at www.stonesour.com.
Â
The quintet will be previewing select songs from the album during this summerâs Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival. The 36-date tour launches August 17 in Minneapolis, MN and will visit arenas and amphitheatres across North America before wrapping October 4 in Madison, WI. Tickets are available via www.RockstarUproar.com and www.livenation.com.
Â
Audio Secrecy is the follow-up to the gold-certified Come What(ever) May, which was also produced by Raskulinecz and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and spawned three radio hits, including the No. 1 smash hit single, "Through Glass,â âSillyworldâ and âMade of Scars.â Billboard hailed the record as âan intense, taut piece of work,â Alternative Press called the group âmasters of ass-kicking,â adding, âIn a better America, Stone Sour would be the face of American rockâ and Revolver magazine gave the disc four stars and praised the quintet for âdemonstrating a dynamic range equaled by few of their peers.â Stone Sour's self-titled debut, also certified gold, spawned the band's first breakthrough hit "Bother," which was spotlighted on Spider-Man soundtrack.Â
It seems like Green Day is everywhere right now, and for good reason. They are everywhere! From Broadway to your livingroom. Check out the upcoming Rock Band GREEN DAY!
This is an audio MP3 from a skype piece that the Edge did that explains why the U2 tour is being postponed! The US tour is going to be rescheduled in 2011! Keep listening to WAAF for more details!
Scott Weiland and I don't exactly get along. Well, at least we didn't. A few years ago, we talked while he was in town with Velvet Revolver, and he was a dick!
Since then, I've taken my jabs when I have the chance, and that's been often!
When I had another chance to talk to him, I took it.
He was cordial, and polite. To be honest, I don't think he even remembers being a dick to me... I'm sure I'm not the only one that it's happened to and I bet I won't be the last.
In this interview, recorded May 11, Weiland sounds better than he has in a long time.
Get all of the details on the reunion, the new album, the tour and he even talks about VR and what went wrong.
There are very few bands that are as polarizing, as Limp Bizkit. Some people love them, some people hate them... One thing is for sure, they have sold a TON of records and made more than their fare share of headlines while doing it. You cannot deny their success, and that if a LB song comes on the radio at a party, your head is going to bob with the beat!
Last night, there were bands all over the TV. I've been clicking back and forth watching all of the games on TV, that I lost track of whick WAAF artists were going to be on and when.
So, just in case you forgot to watch these performances last night, here you go!
Here's Limp Bizkit on the Tonight Show.
Here's Green Day on with Jimmy Fallon covering the Rolling Stones!
And finally Crash Kings on Jimmy Kimmel!
After playing the Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, OH on May 23, Limp Bizkit will start "Rollin'" on a full U.S. tour in July and August. The Gold Cobra Tour begins in Holmdel, NJ on July 3. Other stops include Cleveland on July 5; Cincinnati on July 7; Charlotte on July 8 and Biloxi on July 10. Snoop Dogg will join the trek starting July 11 in Atlanta, and the two acts will tour together through August 15 in Auburn, WA. Limp Bizkit will then head to Europe for more than 40 headlining shows, according to Pollstar.rumored to feature guest appearances by a host of Hip-Hop artists, including Raekwon and Paul Wall.Durst recently posted on Twitter, "We will be performing on Jay Leno's Tonight Show on May 10. We have no idea what we're gonna play. They want an older song. Hmmmm."
The original lineup of Limp Bizkit â Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal â will unleash a new album, dubbed Gold Cobra, later this year. The band already has leaked a new song called "Why Try," which is posted for streaming on LimpBizkit.com . Gold Cobra will be the Bizkit's first new studio album with the original lineup since 2000's Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, and it is

What do you think? Are you happy to have them back? Think they should have stayed away? Should we play the new song?
I'm not really sure how I feel about this... I mean, if MY dad was John Bonham, and I played the drums... I know that I would have a hard time getting out from underneath his shadow. But this???
C'mon dude? There isn't anyone you would rather be making NEW music with?
Then again, if anyone has the right to do it... He does, right?
What do you think?
From Spinner:
Jason Bonham, son of deceased Led Zeppelin drummer John, is planning an audacious 30-date tour revisiting the songs of his father's band, accompanied by family photos, home movies and music from an as-yet unspecified tribute band.
In the wake of the latest rumours of a Led Zeppelin reunion being quashed, Bonham Jr looks set to get his own project on the road. This is more than just a cashing in on his father's memory -- the drummer filled in for his father for the band's 2007 reunion concert at the O2 Arena.
Bonham told Blabbermouth, "I have always loved playing the music of Led Zeppelin and after such a great night back in 2007 at the O2 Arena, I took an opportunity to [begin work on] a very special show which would look at my life with the music of Led Zeppelin.
"Old photos, home movies and videos would help take you on a journey into my life from my earliest memories right up the O2 show."
Bonham also said that the North American tour would be designed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of his father's death, in September of this year.
The 43-year-old drummer has been among the loudest voices calling for a Led Zeppelin reunion tour, meeting consistent resistance to the idea from Robert Plant.
Question? Is this just as good as Floyd touring together? Why?
Here's the press release:

Boston, MA (April 12, 2010)- Roger Waters, co-founder and principal songwriter of the archetypal progressive band Pink Floyd, is commemorating the 30th anniversary of the original release of The Wall with a monumental tour featuring a full band and a newly-mounted state-of-the-art production of his epochal masterpiece of alienation and transformation performed in its entirety. The tour includes one night only at Bostonâs TD Garden on September 30.Â
Up to date details on Roger Waters' The Wall Tour, and more, may be found on the artist's newly relaunched and redesigned website, RogerWaters.com. Waters is personally involved with the site and will be communicating with fans through it.Â
The Wall has been previously performed live in its entirety by Waters just 31 times including Pink Floyd's 1980-81 tour in support of the album. A spectacular Roger Waters solo staging and performance of the rock opera in July 1990, celebrating the fall of the Berlin Wall, drew nearly a half million fans to the Potsdamer Platz.Â
Roger Watersâ The Wall North American Tour, produced by Live Nation, will open September 15 in Toronto and runs through December 13 at the Anaheim Honda Center (please see full itinerary following).Â
The New York Times (March 2, 1980) declared that "The Wall show remains a milestone in rock history, it will be the touchstone against which all future rock spectacles must be measured."Â
Originally released in November 1979, The Wall was America's top-selling album of 1980, is one of the top-selling double albums of all time, and is still in the US Top 5 best-selling albums of all time.Â
The Wall was made into a metaphorical musical film, directed by Alan Parker with screenplay by Roger Waters, in 1982.Â
One of the most profoundly influential albums in the history of recorded music, The Wall continues to affect pop culture while resonating with generations of music fans. Â
WOW!!!! Tom Werner called in to talk about the Sox, the Run To Home Base, Supporting our Troops, the Yankees, Aerosmith at Fenway Park, Mork & Mindy and how slow we both run! I talked to him for 15 minutes and I didn't even ask him for free tickets ONCE!!! :)

OZZY OSBOURNE'S NEW SONG, "LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAM,"
WILL HAVE ITS WORLD PREMIERE DURING THE WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14 EPISODE OF "CSI: NY"
Â
Ozzy Osbourne's new song, "Let Me Hear You Scream," from his upcoming Epic Records album, Scream, will have its world premiere during an episode of CSI: NY, to be broadcast Wednesday, April 14 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Â
In the episode, "Redemptio," a death row inmate's (guest star Harold Perrineau, "Lost") final request brings Dr. Hawkes (series regular Hill Harper) to a Pennsylvania prison and face-to-face with a tragic incident that he has kept secret for many years, just as a prison riot erupts and traps Hawkes inside. The story was written by executive producer Peter M. Lenkov, with the teleplay by Lenkov and Bill Haynes.
Â
"We were looking for something high energy and irreverent to sell the madness of a prison riot," said executive producer and episode writer Peter M. Lenkov.  "We immediately responded to the new Osbourne tune. The song exceeded our expectations and brought exactly the right tone to the episode."
Â
"When I heard they were going to use 'Let Me Hear You Scream' for a prison riot scene, I thought, 'Well, now that's something I know about,'" says Ozzy, who spent time in prison in the U.K. for burglary before his 18th birthday.
Â
Ozzy Osbourne's career has spanned four decades and his music is as relevant today as ever. The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has sold over 100 million albums worldwide â 50 million with Black Sabbath and as many as a solo artist. In 2003, he was honored with a star on Hollywood Boulevard's "Walk of Fame."Â Osbourne is not only a legend and an icon, but is a pioneer in his genre of music.Â
Â
CSI: NY, a crime drama inspired by the drama series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," is about forensic investigators who use high-tech science to follow the evidence and solve crimes in the Big Apple.Â
Stoners everywhere are anxiously awaiting April 20th, no... Not just because it's 4/20, but because that's the day that we get the new Cypress Hill album Rise Up!
I'm sure that you've heard us play the title track featuring Tom Morello on guitar, but if you want a better idea of what the entire album is going to be like...
Tom Hanks is going from 'HBO's The Pacific' to Green Day's "American Idiot"?It looks that way! What do yout think? Would you go and see this? From deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: The Green Day-fueled American Idiot doesn't bow on Broadway bow until April 20. Already, talks are underway with Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman to turn the musical into a feature film. American Idiot uses the songs of punk band Green Day to tell the coming of age story of three small-town guys. One joins the armed forces, another moves to the city and gets mired in a drug habit, the third stays home and gets his girlfriend pregnant. There is little dialogue beyond the Green Day tunes. The musical is directed by Spring Awakeningâs Michael Mayer, the music supervisor is Tom Kitt and Green Day and its lead singer/songwriter Billie Joe Armstrong were very involved. The musical first opened at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, with Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman producing, and it begins previews this week at the St. James Theatre.
Playtone's last stage-to-screen transfer was the Abba musical Mamma Mia! Critics might not have loved it, but audiences sure did. The film grossed $610 million worldwide, becoming one of the biggest hits in Universal Pictures history. Hanks and Goetzman have a first-look deal at Universal, but the producers will sew up the movie rights before giving the studio first crack, I hear. They just set up Larry Crowne at Universal, with Hanks directing and starring with Julia Roberts.
Universal, which keeps threatening to start movement on a feature version of the stage hit Wicked, is on a faster track with In The Heights, hiring Kenny Ortega to direct a movie version that is expected to star the show's creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, as the bodega owner who plans to use a lottery windfall to retire on a beach in the Dominican Republic. New Line is turning the Broadway musical Rock of Ages into a film, with Chris DâArienzo adapting his book into a script and directing a coming of age story that is homage to hair band anthems.
All of this indicates that the movie musical's heart is still beating, despite the box office disappointment of Nine last year.

As we get ready to leave the security of Iraq to it's people, what 'American' traditions will be left behind? What things will be odopted?  Napoli (March 8, 2010) â EXTREME is releasing their âTake Us Aliveâ live CD and DVD on Frontiers Records world-wide April 23rd in Europe & May 4th In USA. In 2008, following a 13 year hiatus, the band returned to the stage for their âTake Us Aliveâ world tour, which encompassed 75 cities and multiple continents in support of their new and groundbreaking record, Saudades de Rock.
This recording captures EXTREME at the peak of their game with a renewed enthusiasm led by Gary Cheroneâs spellbinding stage performance and powerful vocals, Nuno Bettencourtâs ferocious guitar, Pat Badgerâs flawless bass and Kevin Figueiredoâs pounding drums not to mention the Extreme trademark, spot on, back up vocals.
This brilliant performance was recorded on the last night of their tour at the House of Blues August 8, 2009 in EXTREMEâs hometown of Boston, MA . âWe wanted to do something really special for our hometown fans that were there for us since the beginning⦠the club days,â states Nuno. âIt was the last night of the tour and we couldnât think of a better way to celebrate than by bringing it back to where it all started⦠Boston.â
The concert showcases material from all 5 EXTREME albums and exhibits the bands broad stylistic abilities. Features include a blistering rendition of the Zeppelin-minded âComfortably Dumb,â the scorching âPlay With Me,â the funked-up âCupidâs Deadâ as well as the anthemic âGet The Funk Out.â Songs like their #1 hit âMore Than Wordsâ and the top 5 âHole Hearted,â highlight the crowds enthusiasm and loyal support their fan base has had for this beloved foursome. âAs much as we enjoy recording, for me, Iâve always loved playing live for the fans,â Cherone says. âWe couldnât wait to get out there and play for our fans.â
The DVD will contain 4 unreleased bonus videos from their latest record Saudades de Rock. Videos include the songs âKing of the Ladiesâ, âInterfaceâ, âRunâ and âGhost.â The videos were produced by Nuno Bettencourt. âThis DVD/CD is a culmination of all the years we played together and the chemistry the four of us put out live,â explains Bettencourt.Â

 About EXTREME:
To date, the Grammy-nominated EXTREME have released five albums, plus a greatest hits setâselling over 10 million records worldwide. They also achieved a #1 hit single, âMore Than Wordsââfrom their 1990 multi-platinum album Extreme II: Pornograffittiâon the Billboard Hot 100, which they followed with the Top Five âHole Hearted.â Although these two acoustic hits brought the band great mainstream success, the bandâs trademark sound has always been more a mix of hard rock funkâfueled by guitar virtuoso Nuno Bettencourtâs signature style, Gary Cheroneâs resonant vocals and socially conscious lyrics, Pat Badgerâs rock solid bass, and the hard hitting Kevin Figueiredo on drums.
It was just after 8 a.m. on Feb. 12, and for the last three hours Guns Nâ Roses frontman Axl Rose had been knocking back cocktails of vodka, cranberry juice and champagne at hip NYC lounge Greenhouse. Hot off the stage from an electric two-hour gig at the John Varvatos store on the Bowery, Rose still had enough energy to keep the party going with his entourage of 20 or more rockers and hangers-on.
âItâs kind of his thing,â said Greenhouse co-owner Barry Mullineaux of Roseâs early after-partying that morning (Mullineaux later named a rose-colored champagne cocktail âthe Axl Roseâ in honor of the rockerâs wild morning at his club.). âHis shows always run late, and heâs a true rock star so he liked to have after-parties after all of his shows.â
But Roseâs recent high jinks are legendary even where rockers are concerned. For the last three weeks, the singer has been on an epic bender in New York, tearing through the cityâs nightclubs and bars like heâs still the stick-thin 25-year-old who became a worldwide phenomenon after the release of his album âAppetite for Destruction.â
Since he arrived in the city for his Fashion Week concert on Feb. 11, heâs gone out nearly every night (and continued on till the morning), usually crashing afterward at his $1,550-a-night suite in the Essex House Hotel. His assault on New York night life has made him a one-man stimulus package during the sceneâs winter doldrums â and the cityâs nocturnes are thrilled.
âItâs like heâs teaching the next generation how itâs done,â said one source who has joined Rose on at least half a dozen of his jaunts, where Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill has also been spotted. âWhoâs a bigger rock star than Axl Rose?â
One of Roseâs guitarists, Richard Fortus, is in the process of getting started on an elaborate back tattoo at Graceland in Brooklyn, which will take some time to complete.
Though Rose, who lives on the West Coast, has been in New York on and off in the last couple years, night-life insiders say he hasnât hit the town this hard since 2006.
That year, Rose was in town to play a show at the now-defunct club The Plumm â and got into a punch-up with preppy designer Tommy Hilfiger. (Rose moved a drink that belonged to one of Hilfigerâs friends, so Hilfiger hit him in the face. The clothier was shown the door, and Rose later performed âYouâre Crazyâ â dedicating the song to Hilfiger.)
Now, the rocker, who turned 48 on Feb. 6, is back on the rampage in the Big Apple. Rose asked to play the concert at the Varvatos store â for reasons that are still unclear â and proprietor John Varvatos was happy to oblige. âWe thought they were only going to play five or six songs,â Varvatos said of Rose and his band. In fact, he played 17 to a packed room which included Kevin Bacon.
Like I told you back in November, the new Slash album is going to be awesome! He's got some HUGE names making appearances! Check out this video, of the behind the scenes "Making Of' the new album!

Quotes:
Attributed to Saving Abel:
The safety, well-being and happiness of our nationâs troops have always been close to our hearts. And what better way to show them we care, than by traveling to the Persian Gulf on a USO tour and rocking out Americaâs soldiers. The USO has a rich history of delivering a touch of home to our men and women in uniform, and Saving Abel is honored to be apart of that legacy. We couldnât do what we do everyday without them, and we are forever grateful.
Attributed to singer Jared Weeks:
No matter where we go or who we are playing in front of, we always make sure people know that from our perspective it is each and every one of their responsibilities to support our troops. They do so much for us, they deserve to be recognized. We have these freedoms because of what they do.
Attributed to Sloan Gibson, USO president and CEO:
Americaâs armed forces do more than defend our borders and protect us from harm, they sacrifice their lives for us 365 days a year and serve our nation proudly from all around world. Through USO tours like Saving Abel, the USO is able to give back to our nationâs troops by lifting their spirits and bringing smiles to their faces. We are thrilled to be working with Saving Abel and know that those in the Persian Gulf are in for a great treat.
Attributed to John Ham, Ustream founder and CEO, and Brad Hunstable, Ustream founder and president:
Ustream is a proud supporter and partner for this event with the USO and Saving Abel to provide entertainment for our brave soldiers abroad. Having served our country and graduated from West Point, this is a cause that's near to us and we are honored to be a part of it. It's great to see that the Ustream platform is being used in line with our founding vision to bring a one-to-many live streaming solution to everyone, everywhere.
Attributed to Jeanne Flower, St Albert The Great School Principal:
We are beyond excited to have Saving Abel deliver the childrens words of appreciation to the brave men and women overseas who continue to fight for us, and future generations to live in a free country.

I saw this online and thought it was so interesting... It's a high school note from Slash (Saul) to his ex-girlfriend... Michelle! They broke up because he talked about hig guitar too much! HA!!!!!
Saul was just 14 when he wrote and illustrated the following letter to Michelle Young; an ex-girlfriend who had just recently ended their relationship and, in a previous letter, blamed the decision on Saul's unending talk of his guitar. The guitar obsession never ended and Saul soon became Slash, one of the world's most admired guitarists and member of Guns N' Roses, whilst Michelle stayed in the picture and after dating Axl Rose in the mid-80s became the subject of My Michelle, a song that frankly spoke of her drug-fuelled lifestyle, her father's career in 'porno' and her mother's death.
Incidentally, the Starwood Club closed down two years later. Quiet Riot however went on to huge success and released an album in 1983 that topped the U.S. charts; unheard of for a heavy metal band.
Transcript follows.
Many thanks - yet again - to Jeff at Hard Rock for supplying the letter. If you haven't yet been, I highly recommend visiting the Hard Rock Memorabilia website to view all manner of fascinating music-related memorabilia. They can also be followed on Facebook. Â

Dear Michele,
Your letter scared me, upon first glance, I hadn't any idea what it was about, but when you told me, it struck in a strange way, I hadn't any idea that I talked about my guitar so often, I'm going to have to change that, no matter who I talk to.
It's a drag that it screwed up our relationship, you should have told me sooner, but I don't think that's the only reason, you just don't like me that much, and I can see why, because I'm a hard person to get along with at times.
But any I'm glad we got that straight, thank you for not lying to me. To get off the subject, you look really nice today, you get prettier & prettier every day. My weekend was pretty good. Steve came by and we went to a couple parties, and we went to the Starwood, I spent pretty much of my weekend on cloud 9 if you know what I mean.
I had never been in the Starwood before, like, we hung around outside, but I've never been inside. It's not such a hot place, I mean the Bands are alright, the girls are pretty (I still think you cuter than any of the girls there) the drugs are cool but it's not a place I would want to waste my life at. The most exciting part of the night was, a guy mouthed off to this black guy, and the black got a hundred friends and chased him around all Hollywood. It's a pretty crazy place. I'm going there next week to see Quiet Riot, because I hear there pretty good. One of these days I'll play there.
Love you
Saul

Blabbermouth reported: STONE TEMPLE PILOTS unveiled their first new album in nine years at a private listening party on Tuesday night (February 23) in New York City. The entire band was in attendance at the event, with The Pulse of Radio's reporter on the scene saying that singer Scott Weiland "looked the best he's looked in a long time." All 12 tracks from the album were aired, with The Pulse of Radio reporter calling the record "a natural, melodic progression for STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, with BEATLES-esque harmonies, a lot of in-your-face, hard-rocking tracks, plenty of guitar solos and some astounding singing from Weiland."
The yet-to-be-titled album, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS 's sixth, will be out June 1.
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS reunited in 2008 after a six-year layoff. The band's last album, "Shangri-La-Dee-Da", came out in 2001.
The PILOTS will also tour throughout the spring and summer, with Weiland hinting in a recent interview that the band might mount its own festival.
The disc will be issued through Atlantic Records, although Weiland told The Pulse of Radio at the time of the band's 2008 reunion tour that he was interested in exploring other options outside the traditional music industry. "When we first talked about putting STP back together, it was do this tour and then see about doing a creative deal with another company, like an all-in deal," he said. "And, you know, if you look at even like RADIOHEAD and a handful of other bands, they make more money doing things in an unconventional fashion as opposed to doing it, you know, with the major labels."
Bassist Robert DeLeo said about the new disc, "Fans are going get a great STP record . . . a really cohesive record with songs that are going to be lasting."
What do you think? Are you excited about the new STP album?
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE/STREET SWEEPER SOCIAL CLUB guitarist Tom Morello, LINKIN PARK vocalist Mike Shinoda and SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian are among the musicians who make guest appearances on "Rise Up", the new album from the hip-hop/rock act CYPRESS HILL, due on April 6 via Priority/EMI. Also scheduled to appear on the CD are singer-songwriter Marc Anthony, rapper Pitbull, Everlast, Young De, Evidence, The Alchemist and comic legends Cheech & Chong.
The album spotlights not one, but two lead singles: the incendiary title cut "Rise Up", which features Tom Morello (who co-wrote and co-produced the song) and "Armada Latina", a hip-hop-flavored track spiced with vocals by Marc Anthony and Pitbull and production by Jim Jonsin (LIL WAYNE, BEYONCE).
"Rise Up" track listing:
01. It Ain't Nothin' (feat. Young De)
02. Light It Up
03. Rise Up * (feat. Tom Morello)
04. Get It Anyway
05. Pass The Dutch (feat. Evidence and Alchemist)
06. Bang Bang

"Rise Up" is CYPRESS HILL's first new album in six years and the first release being issued through Priority/EMI. Priority Records creative chairman Snoop Dogg signed the band to the label. The follow-up to 2004's "Till Death Do Us Part", "Rise Up" was recorded over the course of the past three years at B-Real's studio, The Temple, in Los Angeles.
CYPRESS HILL (emcees B-Real and Sen Dog, DJ Julio G and percussionist Eric Bobo), is one of the most successful and influential hip-hop/rock groups in music history, with more than 18 million worldwide sales, an amazing string of chart-topping hits and an international fanbase whose members number in the millions. They've headlined Lollapalooza, been named "Best Rap Group" by Rolling Stone, collaborated with the likes of PEARL JAM and SONIC YOUTH, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and have had their music licensed for a plethora of TV shows, commercials and films. CYPRESS HILL was also the first Latino hip hop group to be certified platinum.
Well, I held off long enough! I've watched numerous record execs, sales people and DJ's etc. become virtual SLAVES to their PDA's! They've said... Don't get one, it's like CRACK!Â
Nirvana was one of the most influencial bands of the 90's. It spawned the Foo Fighters, Hole and helped the Grunge movement become one of the most loved musical genre's to this day!
With STP back together, AIC finding a new lead singer, Soundgarden reuniting and Pearl Jam going strong... You can't help but think what could have been!
Courtney Love has a new Hole album on the way, and her only child (with Kurt) Frances Bean Cobain announced her signing debut, there's no chance that the legacy of Kurt will soon be forgotten!
Effectively signaling a settling of differences with frontman Steven Tyler that had the other band members threatening to seek another singer -- temporarily, according to guitarist Joe Perry -- Aerosmith will precede its June 13 Download date with an appearance at the Sweden Rock Festival on June 10 in Solvesborg. A U.K. spokeswoman for the band tells Billboard.com that other European dates will be announced shortly.
"There's no Aerosmith without Steven Tyler," notes Download promoter Andy Copping of Live Nation U.K. "There's no point in entertaining anything other than (with) Steven Tyler." Copping adds that an Aerosmith without Tyler "was never part of the conversation" with the group's representatives.
The group has also been offered tour dates in South America, but nothing has been announced yet. No North American shows have been mentioned, and there's also no word on if and when Aerosmith plans to resume work on the new album it was recording in Brendan O'Brien, which was sidelined by Tyler and Perry's health issues.
Tyler has been in rehab since late December for an addiction to painkillers. Perry has been touring with his Joe Perry Project to support his latest album, "Have Guitar, Will Travel," while drummer Joey Kramer has been promoting his autobiography, "Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top." Guitarist Brad Whitford is gearing up for an Experience Hendrix tour that starts March 4 in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Courtesy of NME -- Frances Bean Cobain sings as part of a "gang" on Dresden Dolls side-project
Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's daughter Frances Bean is to make her singing debut on a track also featuring My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way, Andrew WK, and Weird Al Yankovic.
Seventeen-year-old Cobain sings on "My Space," which will appear on the eponymous debut album by Evelyn Evelyn, who are made up of Dresden Dolls frontwoman Amanda Palmer and Seattle musician Jason Webley.
Other acts on the track include Tegan & Sara, ex-Hold Steady keyboardist Franz Nicolay, Margaret Cho, Eugene Mirman, and various members of Mindless Self-Indulgence, reports Twentyfourbit.com.
The album Evelyn Evelyn is due to be released on March 30.
In December, Courtney Love lost custody of Frances Bean Cobain.
Well it seems like everyone had a great time yesterday with Theory of a Deadman, Halestorm and Adelitas Way! I had to sleep in... It was a late night last night... More on that later!
It all started at Jillians for a pre-concert party! The bands were all very excited to play ping pong, pool foos ball, and especially to BOWL! It's like they never bowled before! They couldn't wait to put on the ugly shoes! All of the bands arrived to the private room filled with food, booze and lucky WAAF winners! It was a perfect storm, and it was only 4pm... I knew it was going to be a late night... More on that later! :)
Adelitas Way was bowling for bragging rights, but I was able to pull them away long enough to talk to them about being some of the 'newbies' on the tour! Lead singer Rick Dejesus (who has the biggest feet I have ever seen) was talking about how thin his blood is, since he moved from Philly to VEGAS! He cannot handle the cold! He did the entire show in his P-coat!
Halestorm walked in and all of the guys were immediatley all over LZZY! This chick is NUTS!!! She started doing shots as soon as she got there! They were all joking around and cracking jokes... at my expense mostly :) They were really funny talking about the male 'groupie' experience and how LZZY get's more attention from the girls than they do! They are all very jealous! You would be too!
Theory of a Deadman is a strange band... They have been on the road for 2 years on this album, and they are all still getting along like brothers! That's a LONG time to be in a bus with a bunch of other dudes! These guys were all over the bowling! Lead singer Tyler was an illegal bowler... He wanted to wear his Chuck's... I told him I was going to tell on him! He said "to who? The BOWLING POLICE???"
All of the interviews will be posted online as soon as we get them together... I told you that the party got out of control!
Once we moved to the HOB, the show got started! Adelitas Way did a great job of warming up the crowd! When Halestorm came out to LZZY SCREAMING the place went nuts! If you haven't seen them yet... You'll love the drum solo!!! They were really tight, energetic and those shots that LZZY did earlier at Jillians didn't hurt her amazing voice one bit!
Theory of a Deadman wes awesome! The did a cover of Got Me Wrong from AIC unplugged! During Bad Girlfriend we saw 2 people having sex in the front row! Thank you to Boston Bruin Shawn Thornton for the new term... "Front Row F*cking"! Yup, you heard me right, a bunch of the B's showed up to cheer on the Theory guys... Those Canadians need to stick together!
The best part of the entire night happened after the show. The B's and the Theory guys ended up on the tour bus, Milan Lucic took control of the iPod and a debate began over what Pearl Jam song was the best! I think if puch came to shove... The B's would have won that fight!
From the Bruins... Milan Lucic, Johnny Boychuk,  Shawn Thornton, and Tuukka Rask

The ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL has become the summerâs hottest ticket by giving fans the opportunity to experience a thrilling mix of hard musicâs most influential artists and exciting young voices. This summerâs lineup turns up the heat with a main stage lineup that sees KORN and ROB ZOMBIE joined by LAMB OF GOD and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. The JAGERMEISTER stage will feature HATEBREED, CHIMAIRA, SHADOWS FALL, WINDS OF PLAGUE and the JAGERMEISTER Battle of The Bands Winner. The second stage will spotlight ATREYU, NORMAJEAN, IN THIS MOMENT and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD.Â
The Worldâs Greatest Freestyle Motocross team, METAL MULISHA, will return to rev up audiences with their unique style of death-defying motorcycle stunts. Also featured on this yearâs tour will be the bombastic BEACHERâS MADHOUSE, a sexy costume party combined with outrageous variety acts, beautiful dancers, scantily-clad Beacherâs Babies, DJâs and so much more. Comedian Jay Oakerson (seen on Comedy Central) will also be on hand to deliver an onslaught of unbridled awesomeness and raunchy rock n roll comedy.Â
The ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL will be the first major city tour for KORN in support of their 9th studio album, tentatively titled Korn III - Remember Who You Are. The new album marks the return of producer Ross Robinson, who worked with Korn on their first two releases, Korn and Life is Peachy. Lead vocalist Jonathan Davis has said that the new material matches the pure raw emotion of Kornâs early releases while the current touring band has never been tighter. âItâs the perfect mix,â says Davis, âand Mayhem is the perfect place to set it off. We canât wait for the fans to hear it!â
ROB ZOMBIE is gearing up for the February 2nd release of his Roadrunner / Loud & Proud debut Hellbilly Deluxe 2. Over the course of the past 18 years, Zombie has sold more than 15 million records as a solo artist and with his former band, White Zombie. Says Zombie, "Itâs been over a decade since my last tour with Korn, so this pairing is long overdue. Mayhem will be one amazingly destructive way to spend the summer. "
The ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL is produced by Rockstar Taste of Chaos organizer John Reese, Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and Creative Artists Agency. The trio has made Mayhem a standout on the summer concert circuit by following the proven model of utilizing sponsorship to deliver a lower ticket price and an enhanced concert experience. This year sees them joining forces once again with ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK as the title sponsor.Â
âWhen we started this tour three years ago, one of our primary goals was to develop new artists,â say Lyman and Reese. âSo weâre extremely proud of Five Finger Death Punch, who were a side stage band during year one and are now a main stage act. Mayhem has quickly become a powerful brand by assembling a monster-sized lineup of heavy hitting artists and unparalleled excitement at an affordable price. It's a tour of not-to-be-missed moments. The fans recognize this and have responded."
Live Nation is co-producer of the tour and will promote the festival nationally.
âThe Mayhem team has done it again.  The Mayhem Festival has become one of the premier traveling music festivals of the summer drawing more than 600,000 hard rock music fans to our amphitheaters in 2008 and 2009,â said Jason Garner, Chief Executive Officer of Global Music at Live Nation. âWith Rob Zombie and Korn, Mayhem 2010 is sure to have another huge summer.â
LAMB OF GOD just received a Grammy nomination for âBest Metal Performanceâ for âSet To Failâ from their most recent release, Wrath, which entered Billboardâs Top 200 at No. 2.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCHâs current album, War Is the Answer, debuted at # 7 on the Billboard charts. They were on the first-ever ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL in 2007 and have since established themselves as one of Americaâs most popular hard rock/ metal bands.
In addition to catching their favorite bands, Mayhem-goers can enjoy a plethora of festival activities, including playing the newest video games, perusing vendors, attending autograph signing sessions and a slew of other interactive activities that enhance the concert experience.

The 12-track album, Valleys of Neptune, features the final studio sessions of the original Jimi Hendrix Experience line-up.
Hendrix died in September 1970, aged 27.
Most of the songs were recorded in 1969 at London's Olympic Studios and New York's Record Plant. They include covers of Sunshine of Your Love by Cream and Bleeding Heart by Elmore James, plus original tracks Lullaby of Summer and Red House. The earliest song on the album, Mr Bad Luck, dates back to 1967.
The recordings have circulated in bootlegs over the years, but this is the first time they have been released officially. Each has been digitally restored to bring the sound quality up to modern standards.
Janie Hendrix, the guitarist's sister and manager of his estate, said: "My brother Jimi was at home in the studio. Valleys of Neptune offers deep insight into his mastery of the recording process and demonstrates the fact that he was as unparalleled a recording innovator as he was a guitarist.
"His brilliance shines through on every one of these precious tracks."
The album will be out on March 8, one of a series of releases marking the 40th anniversary year of Hendrix's death. The title track will be released as a single on February 2.
AUTEUR, FILMMAKER AND ROCK MUSICIAN ROB ZOMBIE BEGINS DIRECTING AN EPISODE OF "CSI: MIAMI" TODAY,
TO BE BROADCAST MONDAY, MARCH 1
Â
This Marks the Director's First Foray Into Television
Â
Filmmaker and musician Rob Zombie will bring his unique style of filmmaking to the streets of Miami on an episode of CSI: MIAMI, to be broadcast Monday, March 1 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  The episode begins production today and is Zombie's television directorial debut.
Â
In the episode, the CSI team discovers that a listening device has been covertly planted at a crime scene, capturing a terrifying soundtrack of the murder and, possibly, the voice of the killer.  However, when itâs revealed the bug was planted by the teamâs own Jesse Cardoza, the Stateâs Attorney tosses the taped evidence and uncovers accusations of evidence tampering by Jesse on a murder case in Los Angeles. With the integrity of his team at stake, Horatio Caine and Eric Delko travel to Los Angeles to dig into that murder and clear Jesseâs name.  While in Los Angeles, Horatio find himself face to face with secrets from Jesseâs past and a dangerous element within the LAPD.
Â
"As writers, we were really pushing to create an interesting backdrop that could lend to Rob Zombie's visual style," says Marc Dube, co-executive producer. "We thought opening the episode at a macabre party, with Miami attendees all wearing stylized masks (a la "Eyes Wide Shut") would be a fun kick-off point for Rob do to what he does best -- conveying the cruel and creepy underbelly of humanity."
Â
"I am very excited to be working on a show that has such an intense and unique visual angle on the classic crime drama formula and look forward to putting my own bizarre stamp on the world of CSI: Miami," says Zombie.
Â
A prolific musician, Zombie has multiple gold and platinum records, sales of over 15 million albums worldwide, and has directed over 25 music videos. His next album, âHellbilly Deluxe 2,â will be released on Feb. 2nd. His re-imagining of âHalloweenâ claimed the highest-grossing Labor Day weekend opening ever, followed by the 2009 success âHalloween 2.â His film accomplishments also include the critically acclaimed "The Devil's Rejects" and the cult classic "House of 1000 Corpses." Zombie has made a distinct mark in the music and film worlds with his uniquely sinister point of view that has resulted in success in both arenas.Â
Â
CSI: MIAMI ranks among the top 20 programs, averaging 13.6 million viewers and continues to dominate its Monday (10:00-11:00 PM) time period in viewers and key demographics.
According to Blabbermouth.net , The Pulse of Radio reports: LINKIN PARK will debut a new song through an upcoming iPhone application, according to a post at frontman Mike Shinoda's personal web site. The app, a touch game called Linkin Park: 8-Bit Rebellion, will arrive later this month. According to Shinoda, players in the game are part of a rebellion against an evil multi-national corporation. He writes, "Items have been stolen from the six leaders of the rebellion. Collecting these items is the rebellion's only hope to thwarting the plans of the evil PixxelKorp." Anyone who finds all six items will be rewarded with a new LINKIN PARK tune at the end.
Shinoda added that more details will be coming soon.
LINKIN PARK is currently working on its fourth studio album, due out by mid-2010. Singer Chester Bennington told The Pulse of Radio that he expects fans to be surprised with the results. "Everybody in the band is involved in the writing process, so I think sonically, if people felt like they knew what LINKIN PARK was or they could, they thought they knew what LINKIN PARK's sound was â if (2007 album) 'Minutes To Midnight' threw them off, they're in for a ride, 'cause it's getting harder and harder for us, let alone anybody else, to classify what LINKIN PARK is."
There's no word yet on what the iPhone song will be, but presumably it will also find its way onto the new album.
According to Blabbermouth and Rollingstone , "Lemmy", a documentary that follows MOTÃRHEAD's frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister on the road and into his home, will premiere at the 2010 South By Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas this March.
The film promises fans more access than ever before to Kilmister's life, and includes interviews with past and present bandmates and such peers/admirers as Slash, Dave Grohl, METALLICA, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne and wrestling superstar Triple H.
Directors/producers Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski, spent three years with Lemmy to capture the life and history of the legendary rocker, traveling from Kilmister's Hollywood home to concerts in Scandinavia and Russia.
The film was reportedly shot on a combination of HD video and super 16 mm film.
"Lemmy never ceases to surprise me," Orshoski told Billboard.com in a 2008 interview. "You think you know who Lemmy is, but you have no idea. If you think you have Lemmy all figured out, trust me. You don't!"
"Shooting Lemmy is like filming dangerous wildlife. He never does what you expect him to do, and he never does anything you want him to do," Olliver added. "A lot of the coolest shots are shots we had to wait for four or five shows to go by before we could get them."
NIN.com said "Our 2008 Lights In The Sky tour was an ambitious multimedia production on a scale well beyond anything we'd ever attempted before. Everyone involved was extremely proud of how it came together, and we were devastated when, for a variety of reasons, we were unable to capture it professionally for a theatrical or commercial release. As a "plan B" of sorts, early last year we released a massive 405gb free download of raw HD footage captured at three different shows during the tour. The idea was to get the footage out in the wild and see what our notoriously enterprising fans could do with it. There were no rules. No strings attached. This was a gift, and an experiment, and for the past year we've watched it come to life in more ways than we could have ever imagined.
Fans have edited thousands of videos from the footage, assembled their own DVDs and live albums, even held theatrical screenings of their creations. And now, the ambitious and well-organized group known as This One Is On Us have released their massive, highly-anticipated creation, Another Version of the Truth: The Gift.
For 12 months, a core team of dozens of fans and a network of thousands spanning the entire globe pooled their efforts to create this professional-quality 1080p 5.1 concert film, and have released it in every format from Blu-ray and DVD to iPod and YouTube. It combines footage from all three shows and includes DVD menus, bonus footage, a PDF booklet, and more. That something of this scale was produced entirely by fans, on their own time, purely for the sake of giving something back to the community, is absolutely unprecedented. You can read all about the project and find all the download links here, or watch it immediately on YouTube here. Theatrical screenings are already being organized, you can find more info about those here.
This is yet another example of a devoted fanbase and a policy of openness combining to fill in blanks left by old media barriers. The entire NIN camp is absolutely thrilled that treating our fans with respect and nurturing their creativity has led to such an overwhelming outpour of incredible content, and that we now have such a high quality souvenir from our most ambitious tour ever. Or, as Trent simply put it, "Nine Inch Nails fans kick ass."
Well, I knew this was going to happen! It's been too long... 12 years too long!  The music has proven that it can stand the test of time! So, now that Audioslave is done for good  and Chris Cornell's solo career didn't go as well as planned... Soundgarden are getting back together in 2010! It's about F*CKING TIME GUYS!!!!!
Soundgarden will reunite for concerts in 2010, according to a Twitter message from frontman Chris Cornell which directs fans to a new Web site, Soundgardenworld.com. The Seattle rock quartet -- Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd and drummer Matt Cameron -- has not played live since splitting up in the spring of 1997.
Although no details have been announced yet, sources tell Billboard the group is weighing offers from several major U.S. and international festivals. But a tour routing is still a work in progress, due to Cameron's prior commitments to play with Pearl Jam in the spring and summer of next year.
Cameron has been Pearl Jam's permanent drummer since 1998; that group recently announced its first North American date of 2010 as part of the second weekend of New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (April 29-May 2), and will also play 10 European shows from June 22 in Dublin through July 10 in Oeiras, Portugal.
Also still amorphous are plans for some kind of Soundgarden best-of and/or reissues of its back catalog. In addition, Thayil and Shepherd have long discussed compiling a Soundgarden boxed set, which would include a wealth of unreleased studio material.
For many years after Soundgarden split, the instrumentalists were said to have had little contact with Cornell and reportedly turned down an offer to reform for Sub Pop's 20th anniversary concerts in Seattle in 2008. Cornell was not on hand for an impromptu live performance on March 24, 2009, at Seattle's Crocodile Cafe, when Cameron, Thayil and Shepherd played the Soundgarden songs "Hunted Down," "Nothing to Say" and "Spoonman" with Tad Doyle on vocals.
But all four members were present at an Oct. 6, 2009 Pearl Jam show in Los Angeles, when Cornell reprised the Temple of the Dog song "Hunger Strike" with the band, and sources say reunion plans began to take shape shortly afterward.
Soundgarden formed in Seattle in 1984, with an initial lineup of Cornell on vocals and drums, Thayil on guitar and Hiro Yamamoto on bass. Cameron joined on drums in 1986, and the following year, the band released its first single, "Hunted Down," on the nascent hometown label Sub Pop.
Famed indie label SST released Soundgarden's debut album, "Ultramega OK," in October 1988, but the band's churning, Black Sabbath-inspired rock'n'roll quickly reached a wider audience after signing with A&M Records, which issued a new album, "Louder Than Love, in September 1989. Yamamoto was replaced briefly on bass by Jason Everman, who was then replaced permanently by Shepherd for the recording of "Badmotorfinger" in 1991.
Driven by Cornell's impressive vocal range, Thayil's dark, detuned guitar work and Cameron's love of tricky time signatures, "Badmotorfinger" songs like "Outshined" and "Jesus Christ Pose," foreshadowed the Seattle-centric grunge explosion ushered in a few months later by Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Soundgarden fully broke through on 1994's five-times-platinum "Superunknown," thanks to smash rock radio hits such as "Spoonman," "Black Hole Sun" and "Fell on Black Days."
After headlining the 1996 Lollapalooza festival in support of the album "Down on the Upside," Soundgarden ran out of steam and broke up amicably. Since the split, Cornell has released three solo albums and three more with the now-defunct Audioslave, which featured the non-singing members of Rage Against The Machine. Thayil and Shepherd have kept a low profile, only occasionally releasing music and collaborating with artists like Sunn O))) and Boris, Probot, Steve Fisk and Mark Lanegan.
Shepherd and Cameron also revived their side project, Hater, which released its second album, "The 2nd," in 2005.
According to the Orange County Register:Â
HUNTINGTON BEACH â An autopsy was pending today on the body of 28-year-old Jimmy âThe Revâ Sullivan, the drummer for the hard rock band Avenged Sevenfold, following his sudden death.
âIt appeared to be natural causes,â said Lt. John Domingo of the Huntington Beach Police Department. âIt's a coroner's case.â Â
âThe decedent is a 28-year-old male discovered unresponsive inside of his residence,â the Coroner's Department stated on its Web site. It said that an âinvestigation is ongoing.â Avenged Sevenfold released a statement online:
"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan.
"Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly, he was our best friend and brother.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time."

One of the benefits of being the Music Director of WAAF, is hearing new music WAY before anyone else! :) Today I got a chance to hear some of the new Slash album that will be released in March of 2010. We should have the new single (which is going to feature Ozzy on lead vocals) in January!
This song was AWESOME!
And, the lyrics are going to piss off Axl & Black Sabbath!
I heard Chris Cornell, Kid Rock, M. Shadows, and even Fergie lending their voices to Slash. They were all great! Also featured on the lineup... Lemme, Iggy, Alice Cooper, Flea, Duff, Â Myles Kennedy and you guessed Dave Grohl!
According to my 'source', Slash wrote the 'blueprint' for the songs with someone specific in mind. Then, he asked that person to get involved and help write and record the track! Every song has a bit of Slash and the other musicians in it... Very COOL!
This album is going to be HUGE!
There is a song online already, that was released by the Japanese band the B'z as their b-side.
It's Slash with Cypress Hill and Fergie doing Paradise City...
Slipknot's legendary self-titled debut is being re-issued in a limited edition package with the full-length LP and a 10th anniversary T-shirt.
The LP is being pressed on green vinyl for the first time in 10 years specifically for this special piece. Each order will also come with a 10th anniversary Slipknot poster, available exclusively with this offer. GO HEREto make it yours.
Well, I know this is going to stir up some debate...
With Rihanna hitting the interview circuit, talking for the first time about her physical abuse with then boyfriend Chris Brown (just in time to promote her new album)...
Here's the new Marilyn Manson video.
The question?
Does this video promote domestic violence, or is it art imitating life or is it Marilyn Manson just trying to piss people off? Or, is it all 3?
I will tell you that I had a hard time watching it all of the way through, so watch at your own risk.
What do you think?
BTW, is it a coincidence that the girl in the video looks just like his ex, Evan Rachael Wood?
Well, we were all thinking it... and FINALLY Chris Cornell has come to his senses! This new version of 'Never far Away' is actually pretty good! Is it too little, too late to save his career? We'll see! How long before we hear that Soundgarden is getting back together?
When tracks from Chris Cornellâs third solo album, Scream, started making the rounds last year, fans were confused. The producer was Timbaland? Electric R&B grooves? And is that freakinâ Justin Timberlake on backing vocals? AN âN SYNC DUDE ON A RECORD BY THE GUY FROM SOUNDGARDEN?!? The only thing missing was Kayne to grabbing the mic halfway through a song.Â
Give Cornell credit for trying to shake up his solo career with a bold statement. But the bottom line is that Scream did not work. Outside of a kind review from Entertainment Weekly (they gave it a B+), the album got savaged by critics and fans. It was a Grunge God/ Timbaland Fail. But if you listened to Scream carefully, there was some good stuff underneath all the overproduction and R&B beats.Â
Michael Friedman, a Canadian ex-pat working in LA in the licensing and placement of music in films and TV, certainly thought so. âI heard some âBlack Hole Sunâ greatness deep within some of the songs,â he told me, âI also got to know Chris as a friend. I ended up calling Jordan Zadorozny [of the Canadian indie band Blinker the Star and co-writer of song with Courtney Love and friend of Fleetwood Macâs Lindsey Buckingham].â I flew him down to LA and had him listen to some of the tracks in hopes that he could remix them somehow.âThe first track to emerge from this de-Timbalanding of Scream is âNever Far Away.â In its original form, a funky mess obscurs what was actually a pretty good Soundgarden-esque mid-tempo rocker. Jordan peeled back all the beats and turned up whatever guitar was there. The result is a proper Chris Cornell song.
Through a roundabout series of connections, I managed to get Michael on the phone yesterday. And with Chris Cornellâs permission, he sent me this unreleased re-imagined, de-cluttered and grunged-up version of âNever Far Away.âCould this be the beginning of a Scream mulligan?Â
(PS:Â "Michael tells me that this version is a total re-recording, not a remix.")

Marking the 20th Anniversary of Nirvanaâs debut album, Sub Pop will re-issue the Platinum Certified Bleach on November 3, 2009. This expanded CD/double-LP will include a never-before-released live performance, special packaging and the first run of the double-LP will be on 180g white vinyl (the first run of the original LP was also on white vinyl).
Originally recorded over three sessions with producer Jack Endino at Seattleâs Reciprocal Recording Studios in December 1988 and January 1989, Bleach was released in June of â89 and remains unequivocally/unsurprisingly Sub Popâs very favorite Nirvana full-length. The album initially sold 40,000 copies, but was brought into the international spotlight following the release and worldwide success of their 1991 sophomore effort, Nevermind. Subsequently Bleach went on to sell 1.7 million copies in the US alone, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This 20th Anniversary Edition has been re-mastered from the original tapes at Sterling Sound in a session overseen by producer Jack Endino.
This edition will include an unreleased live recording of a complete February 9th, 1990 show at the Pine Street Theatre in Portland, Oregon. The show features performances of Love Buzz, About a Girl and a cover of The Vaselinesâ song Mollyâs Lips and has been re-mixed from the original tapes by Endino (complete track listing below). A 52-page CD /16-page LP booklet which includes candid photos of the band not previously released to the public will also be included in this deluxe edition.
According to Godsmack lead singer Sully Erna'sofficial twitter page, a new Godsmack album is in the works in L.A.
Sully also said he is working on a solo album and on the soundtrack to the upcoming action flick,
The Expendables

Watch the official movie trailor here! It's an 'action movie star' packed cast!Â
Did you notice all of the people in this movie?
Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwartzenneger, and Brittany Murphy...
What do you think, is this movie gonna ROCK, or SUCK?
I got a coveted pair of tickets to a show at the House of Blues that sold out in 5 minutes...
Them Crooked Vultures
Imagine, The Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stoneage, and Led Zeppelin mixed in a blender, add vodka and serve over ice! That's Them Crooked Vultures!
Hsu and I met at the Lansdowne Pub for some food and drinks, and we got stuck watching the Patriots lose on the big screen... all this after a the Red Sox get swept in the playoffs... It was not a good day for Hsu! After a 'few' drinks and some laughs at the drunk girls next to us, we headed to the show. I thought Hsu would have brought his little Flip camera... he didn't. i would have shoved it down my pants for him... He was sad when I told him that!
We had Box Tickets... NICE! Front row of the balcony, unobstructed view of the stage, squishy seats and a WAITRESS!!! I ordered some PBR and the lights went out...
There they were... 4 'cool mutha f*ckers', taking the stage. I've never been to a show, where I had NEVER heard 1 song from the band before... But TCV haven't released any music yet, since they just signed their record deal with Interscope last week.
The lights were really cool. Imagine a 25 square Rubiks cube, filled with white lights, and every light is controlled individually... I think the lighting guy was high!!! Hsu and I couldn't help but notice a few things... How many cool guitars they have, how much Dave Grohl plays the drums like Animal from Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem Orchestra (his roadie even sits behind him and moves his mic stand back and forth so he can sing) , and how cool John Paul Jones is...
The band was having a blast, talking in between songs, trying to figure out what to play next... It was cool to see a show that wasn't scripted out from start to finish. It was obvious to everyone, that they were having a ball!
This band is made for playing live... A singer that plays guitar (Josh Homme), a bass player that plays guitar, mandolin, keyboards and sings (JPJ), a drummer that sings, and plays guitar, bass and whatever else he feels like (Dave Grohl), and a guitar player that sings, plays bass and keyboards (Alain Johannes). I was waiting for them to ring a bell, and all switch places!
Dave Grohl needed a row of sandbags to keep his drumset in place... It looked like he was waiting for the Merrimac River to crest! His kit was teal blue, like an old Chevy... And JPJ was playing some instruments that Hsu and I have never seen... It was so cool! And still, I didn't know ONE song! The crowd didn't seem to mind that though... They loved every minute of it! I don't remember all of the song titles, but a couple of my favorite songs of the night were... Mind Eraser No Chaser, and Scumbag Blues.
Â
At the end, they waved to the crowd and walked off stage to Roy Orbison's 'It's Over'... No encore. No medley of Nirvana, Led Zeppelin & QOTS... Just a crowd, left stunned... Trying to comprehend what they had just seen.
Hsu and I managed to weasel ourselves in the very private Foundation Room after the show. After we ordered a round of drinks, Dave Grohl and JPJ walked in! It was crazy... Everyone gravitated to Grohl... He's tall and just 'looks' like a rockstar... But JPJ blended in to the crowd... he walked in, got a drink and just started hanging out with everyone... he's JOHN PAUL JONES FROM LED ZEPPELIN... he doesn't have to hang out with ANYONE!!!!
One by one our group went over to him, saying 'Thank you' etc to a Rock n Roll legand... I offered to buy him a drink, but he politely declined, in his very Spinal Tap British accent... All I could think is... "DUDE, YOU WERE IN LED ZEPPELLIN"... I'm pretty sure he is aware of that fact!
It was a great night, and I can't wait for them to come back into Boston. maybe JPJ will let me buy him that drink! :)
It seems that Aerosmith's recording and touring break are not just due Steven Tyler's injuries from a recent stage accident - it's also due to his ego!
According to the band's co-leader Joe Perry, Tyler has not spoken to his bandmates since the accident in early August. And if he does have to communicate, he does it through his new management team.
For a band that's been together 40 years, that's cold!!
The two haven't even composed a piece together for the past 10 years!
"I'm down in my studio every day, writing, and for some reason he wants to write with people like (songwriter) Mark Hudson and whatever," said Perry. "I can't explain it."
He's been writing songs and using them for himself on his doomed solo album!
But, Perry still wants the band back!
"I'm an eternal optimist. We've been though some pretty thin times and some pretty thick times, and there have been periods when Steven and I - for no reason other than just to get some space - have not talked to each other for months. Then we get back together and things mesh," he said. "I think we need more time to get everybody healthy and the whole thing, and see if Steven wants to be part of the band again."
Aerosmith is legally obligated to play several shows in Hawaii  at the end of October, so only time will tell if they can make amends!
Or just retire!!!
Steven, PLEASE... if this IS true... Knock it off!
The guys are BORED, put the band in the studio, out on the road... whatever!
Just do something so Joe doesn't have to go on ELLEN again!
The Kiss Kaskets are 'kool', even Dimebag is buried in one... But THIS???
Â
Here are the details from Blabbermouth:

"KISS has some of the most recognizable faces in the world of rock and roll  so it's only natural to put their faces on My M&M's," said Jim Cass, vice president and general manager, Mars Direct.
My old friend Zoltan, the founding member of Five Finger Death Punch called in to the show today. We talked about everything from his Hungarian roots, becoming a U.S. citizen, being lost in Las Vegas, how the band got together, the new album WAR Is The Answer and our love and support of the troops!

The album will be available in three formats. Those include, the standard jewel case edition, a deluxe edition that comes with a black light, and the super deluxe edition that includes a larger black light, a special edition black light reactive poster, and more.
SPIN magazine listed the "Top 50 Cover Songs" of all time in a recent article
Here's a look at their TOP 10
10. The Clash, "Police and Thieves"
Originally By: Junior Murvin
The Clash revealed its adventurous side with this 1977 homage to an unlikely influence by trading Murvin's smooth vocal for Joe Strummer's scratchy yelp and coupling rock chords with reggae rhythms.
9. Elliott Smith, "13"
Originally By: Big Star
Big Star's original is a slice of power-pop heaven, but Smith's stripped-down, country-tinged salute was raw enough to cut to the bone.
8.Elvis Costello, "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love and Understanding"
Originally By: George Gershwin
There's something perverse about a perenially underrated British band covering a Jewish-American's interpretation of a Ukranian dirge as an African-American spiritual, but it shows that a great song transcends culture.
6. Guns N' Roses, "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"
Originally By: Bob Dylan
GNR's punchy reinvigoration of the introspective Dylan classic showed that the hard-rock rebels had some unlikely influences.
5. Sinead O'Connor, "Nothing Compares 2 U"
Originally By: Prince
With her emotive spin on this Prince-penned track, the controversial Irishwoman gave broken-hearted girls a karaoke option besides "I Will Survive."
4. Devo, "(Can't Get No) Satisfaction"
Originally By: The Rolling Stones
By replacing Keith Richards's primal riff with syncopated beats and experimental noise, five nerds from Akron, Ohio perfectly perverted rock n' roll's greatest anthem of frustration.
3. Talking Heads, " Take Me to the River"
Originally By: Al Green
Art-school ironists take aim at one the Reverend's most soulful tracks, making it cool to be daring when choosing what to cover.
2. Jimi Hendrix, "All Along the Watchtower"
Originally By: Bob Dylan
With its many astounding guitar solos and fills, Hendrix owns this song-a fact that Dylan himself readily acknowledges.
1. Nirvana, "The Man Who Sold The World"
Originally By: David Bowie
Kurt Cobain's pained vocals on Nirvana's unplugged rendition of this cosmic 1970 Bowie tune sounded even more haunting after the song became a posthumous rock-radio staple.
I can't believe Johnny Cash's version of Hurt by NIN isn't in the Top 10!
Chris Cornell  (SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE) and Jerry Cantrell (ALICE IN CHAINS) made an appearance on stage last night (Tuesday, October 6) at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles for the third of four local PEARL JAM shows. Cornell joined Eddie Vedder for "Hunger Strike", thus reforming the complete lineup of Andrew Wood/MOTHER LOVE BONE tribute band TEMPLE OF THE DOG. Cantrell then hopped on stage to close out the night with the guitar solo on "Alive".
Now, if we could only get Soundgarden back together, and get all of these bands to put a grunge festival together... It would be HUGE!!! Guys, do you hear me? This is a good idea!!!
The next round of supergroup... Black Gives Way to Blue, is being streamed online before its official release on September 29. The record is the first for the band in nearly 14 years and features Elton John playing a piano part for the title track, a tribute to the band's late lead singer, Layne Staley, who died in 2002. Alice in Chains will wrap up a tour in the U.S. at the end of September, before moving on to the U.K. for three shows in November.
Well, I gotta thank Rick Demrest! He knows how to throw one hell of a party! OK, OK... We threw the party, but RICK was the man of the hour and everybody knew it...
Even Alice In Chains.
If you didn't know Rick, you weren't getting in! After some drinks, and some great food... It was time for some tunes. Just listening to the soundcheck of Alice In Chains, we knew we were in for a great show! Rick sat front and center! The band was great. You can tell that Jerry, Mike and Sean have welcomed new lead singer William Duvall with open arms... and man can this guy sing! It's not even that HE has the best voice, it's that his voice is a perfect match to Jerry Cantrells. Some people question whether or not they should have kept the name after lead singer Layne Stayley died. After yesterday, there can be no suck debate! Jerry was the founding member, co-singer and co-writer over the bands very successful career... A better question could have been, could Layne have carried the band without Jerry? The answer... NO WAY! There four guys were meant to be in a band together... And there is the added bonus of William playing guitar, it adds just a little something extra to the sound. I say this with all of the respect in the world to Layne. I've been a fan for years... AC/DC carried on after Bon Scott died... Van Halen did it... so why not AIC?
The 4 song acoustic set was as close to perfect as you could get, and only Rick and his friends got to see it... (thanks for letting me in Rick!)
Rick and his kids, with Alice In Chains!
I had a chance to sit down and talk with the entire band before they took off to the Paradise Rick Club to blow the roof off, Â later on that night! WHAT A SHOW! I go back and forth... better acoustic or plugged in?
Jerry called in to talk about the new album, their new lead singer William Duvall, their old singer Layne Stayley, Elton John, a Soundgarden reunion and so much more!
There was amazing food, bubblegum flavored vodka and root beer floats like we used to have when we were kids! But, no shade!
Creed's instruments started warping in the sun, so we found the only tent we had and covered them before Mark Tremonti's guitar melted into the roof!
The band was happy, relaxed and genuinely excited to be hangin' out poolside with us... It was nice to see them that way after the last few years of 'gossip' and news stories...
They played 3 songs, one from every album released so far.
During the performance, Hill-Man and I were able to get the 'gossip' from the band... How the reunion happened, how they feel now that they are back together, what Spinal Tap moments they have endured over the years... and much more.
The guys couldn't have been nicer to all of us! They took the heat in stride, sounded great, and signed autographs for everyone before they left for the Comcast Center show that night!
The new album Full Circle will be out in October 2009.
Les Paul died today at age 94. You may know the name... But you definitley know the guitar sound that he made famous! We owe Les Paul for so much of the music that we love... So, Thank You Les! Thank you for the soundtrack of my life. And, if you think I am being over dramatic... Just check out this PARTIAL list of people that have played the Les Paul guitar!
Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day), Bumblefoot (Guns N' Roses), Lindsey Buckingham, Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard), Chris Chasse (Rise Again), Graham Coxon (Blur), Eric Clapton, Steve Clark (Def Leppard), Sheryl Crow, Al Di Meola, Andy Dunlop (Travis), Elliot Easton (Cars), David "The Edge" Evans (U2), Don Felder (Eagles), John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Noel Gallagher (Oasis), Jerry Garcia (The Grateful Dead), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam), Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), Steve Hackett (Genesis), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, James Hetfield (Metallica), Noel Hogan (The Cranberries), James Honeyman-Scott (The Pretenders), Brian Jones (The Rolling Stones), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Terry Kath (Chicago), Frank Lero (My Chemical Romance), Kerry Livgren (Kansas), Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Bob Marley, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Tom Scholz (Boston), Neal Schon (Santana, Journey), Earl Slick (David Bowie),Brad Whitford (Aerosmith), Nancy Wilson (Heart), Neil Young

Among the many highlights on "Black Gives Way To Blue" is a special guest performance by Elton John. The two rock legends collaborated on the album's stunning title track, "Black Gives Way To Blue", a heart-stirring tribute to ALICE IN CHAINS' late lead singer Layne Staley.
called in to talk about the new album, the tour, the WAAF rooftop pool party , getting ripped off in Boston years ago and visiting our troops in the Middle East.
AC/DC is taking over Gillette Stadium tonight, and there's going to be a lot more going on than Angus's guitar solo! When you see something crazy at the show, you've got to share it with the class...
I mean US!
So, leave all of your funny AC/DC moments, and drunk, puking, naked people stories here! And give me a full report on the concert too!
On September 20th, you'll be able to buy the new album Backspacer from Pearl Jam.
Today we got the new son 'The Fixer'. Once again, Pearl Jam is showing us, that they are not afraid...
afraid to try something new or different,
afraid to upset their fanbase of people who want them to record Ten part 2,
or afraid to just say 'f*ck it'!
The don't have anything to prove, do they?
They are the ONLY grunge band to stay together and continue recording and touring, since grunge defined the Seattle experience. They have done their own thing all along! This is their 9th album, and they are showing NO signs of slowing down anytime soon.
If you haven't heard it yet, check it out here... and let me know what you think!
But, Jackson's 'dermatologist' spoke out today on GMA about the rumors of Jackson's prescription drugs, who fathered his kids and what was 'wrong' with his skin and face.
By the way, if he IS the father of Prince and Paris... Michael Jackson couldn't afford a better looking sperm donor? This guy is creepy, but as stated in my previous blog... Everything about Jackson is creepy!
I'm sorry, but this is just morbid... And I love morbid! Marilyn Manson is morbid, Gwar is morbid, NIN is morbid, but they are on PURPOSE! The Michael Jackson service is morbid and they're not trying to be!
Having a contest to 'win' tickets to a memorial service? Creepy!
Elephants outside the Staples Center? I don't even know what to say about that!
The Jackson brothers carrying the casket while wearing one sequined glove, just weird!
The gold casket in front of the stage at the Staples Center that got a standing O when it was wheeled in? Creepy.Â
Creepy like this picture of Jackson kissing James Browns dead body! The whole thing is just weird...
They needed a SWAT team to protect the casket as it made it's way to the memorial service? A SWAT team? He's already dead! I just don't get it! Nevermind that it cost 4 million dollars from the City of Los Angeles budget for this! And, they're broke! They are asking for donations! Maybe the Jacksons should pay for it... Now that they are raking in the cash because all of his albums are topping the charts again! Why are we paying for this?
This is a FREAK SHOW!!!
Oh and by the way...
8 American soldiers have died in the last 2 days in Afganistan!
Â
I know that this is going to make some people upset, but I am writing it anyway. Am I really supposed to be sad today? Should I feel some sense of loss, or compassion for a man just because he passed away and because he was a successful singer? Â
OJ was found NOT GUILTY in court, and he became a punchline. Of course shortly after he was found guilty in the civil case, and then sent to jail for kidnapping and armed robbery. But, he was a football player?
James Brown died, he was a music legand, but he also beat his wife!
Â
Â
Phil Spector charted new ground in the music business and was behind some of the most successful musical careers, and then he killed someone. Did you feel bad for him?
Did Michael Jackson have a tough childhood? Sure... any child star does. But he also grew up with opportunities that none of us can even imagine. Did his Dad beat him and emotionaly abuse him? Some people say YES! But that is also true of most inmates in most prisons around the country. Do you feel bad for them? It is coming out now, that Michael Jackson was addicted to morphine and they they were trying to ween him off by giving him Demerol. MJ had a private physician treating him with drugs on a daily basis. Just because he's rich and famous doesn't mean he wasn't a junkie! If you or I had a Doc. that was shooting us up, we'd be in jail and the Doc would lose his license to practice medicine. There are people with private Doc's... But the cops call them DEALERS when they get busted!
And what about the kids? Forced to hide behind masks, unkempt, dragged out in public, no contact with their mother because she SOLD away her custody. They have never been to school, they are too thin, and no one is allowed near them. Dangling a baby off of a balcony? Sounds like abuse to me!
What about the blatant disrespect of the legal system that he showed during his molestation trial. Showing up late, acting 'out of it' like he was drugged, wearing PJ's, dancing on cars outside of the courthouse... Again, if that were any of us, we would have been IN JAIL on contempt charges!
Let's talk about the molestation charges for a second! He settled out of court for 22 million in a civil case, and then SURPRISE... the criminal case was dropped! That does not say innocent to me. And even if he was innocent, wouldn't you STOP sleeping with young boys after you get charged with abuse one time? Nope, not our MJ... He continued the same behaviour, even talking about it in interviews etc. Sure they said he was innocent in court, but even the stuff he admitted doing is cause for concern! And the worst part, is he never showed compasion or remorse for his actions! A family member was quoted as saying "Â Â You can take pictures of Michael's dick and he's not gonna like it, but once you start trying to figure out how much money he has, that's where he stops playing around"! Â His fans attacked and belittled the families and children involved. Raking them over the coals in the press and on TV. Acting like they were in it for the money! Oh yeah, what kid doesn't want to be known as Michael Jacksons rape victim for the rest of their lives? Yeah, that sounds like fun doesn't it? That sure is worth 22 million! That kid from 1993 had to change his name and move away! But, he's living in a really big house, so I guess he's happy!
What about his FACE? He says he's had 2 operations! Ya, right! He's had more noses that Mr. Potatohead! You can do what you want to your own body, but give me a break! Are we supposed to believe that you look like this naturally? C'mon! When we see other people 'overdo it' at the Doc's office, we think there is something mentally wrong with them! But not Michael? Oh yeah that's right... when you're rich, you're excentric... not CRAZY!
And now, look at the circus... Look at the celebs that are coming out of the woodwork talking about his 'talents'. That he was so gentle, and caring... Paul McCartney even called him a MAN BOY! What about all of the crazy people camping out at UCLA, his house, his star on the 'Walk of Fame' and even the Apollo? They're all just itching to get on TV and talk about their 'connection' to Michael... UGH! It's a circus! Would they still be there if he was convicted? Probably! People are still holding up pictures of Chris Brown on TV and he ADMITTED that he beat Rhianna!
Michael Jackson's abuse and drug habits are no different than most prisoners in jail right now... remember that! I bet the guy that killed his 7 year old on Father's day, had a tough childhood, but that doesn't make his actions ok!
I know... I know... But Michael Jackson wrote THRILLER! It's a good thing that he did, because if he were like us... He would have died be in JAIL!
Axl, are you paying attention? Get out of the house and get rid of your handlers! Just because you wrote Appetite for Destruction, doesn't mean we'll love you no matter what!Am I sad today? Yes I am... I'm sad that Farrah died!
The decade that everyone was too embarassed to admit that they loved...
Is BACK,  in a big way! All you have to do is spend 5 minutes in the day-glow section of Hot Topic to see that the 80's are 'cool' again!
When it comes to the music of the 80's, bands have been paying tribute for a while now. Why do bands keep going back to the 80's? Was it really THAT great? Was life easier? Was it better? Did the 80's have all of the answers?
Â
Â
So what's going on? Are we in a time warp? Is it time to get into the DeLorean, and go 'back in time'? What's next? Is it time for me to bust out the Def Leppard 'shotgun' pants and wrap the zebra bandana around my head? I'm so confused!
Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, The Nightwatchmen, and now Street Sweeper Social Club, called in to talk about his tour with NIN and Janes Addiction, Baseball, Politics and Fez's!
What better way to come back from a holiday weekend, than to hang out with some Rock 'N' Roll LEGENDS! Chickenfoot will take over the WAAF airwaves today, LIVE from their sold out show at The Middle East. Make sure you're listening today, starting at 3pm for all of the craziness that is CHICKENFOOT!
Judging by this video, I'm going to have my hands full this afternoon!Â
