There is much speculation and intrigue regarding a very simple post one of the Greatest Rock Bands Of All Time recently put up on their Facebook page. If you are familiar with the history of Led Zeppelin, mystery is par for the course and part of what made them Legends.
What could this "Five" mean? Number of Virgins the band sacrificed to complete Physical Graffiti? The cost of John Bonham's last bar tab...in millions. How many shirts Robert Plant owned in the 70's that actually fit? The majority of the speculation is that the O2 Arena reunion show from 2007 is finally going to be released on DVD on it's "Five" year anniversary. HUZZAH! I was one of the few Billion that didn't make it to that show so I'm psyched they are putting it out. Some are guessing that it's a new incarnation of Zeppelin with Jason Bohnam or Dave Grohl. The Houses Of The Holy font makes it even more confusing. Could it be an album of new material? Then this popped up on their Facebook page yesterday(9/9/12):
So it's a countdown! To what! After all this is 2012. The year the Mayans said it would all end. Obviously Zeppelin, being in league with the Devil, must have some inside info. I'm guessing it's a countdown to the announcement of the DVD release. As with everything they did, they are creating an Epic and mysterious build up. This would be a good time for wagering. I tend to believe, going by Robert Plants comments, that a reunion tour is never going to happen. Which I think is a good thing. They put a brilliant cap on an otherworldly career in 2007 and it would be a shame to see them beat that beautiful horse to a pulp(I'm looking at you Rolling Stones). Although, Neil Young, a huge influence on Led Zeppelin, once said, "It's better to burn out, than to fade away."
One further clue: A reader commenting on the NME blog about this said the "Five" is "Evil" upside down. Oh, my sweet Satan!
Update: This short video was posted on Zeppelin's Youtube channel today(9/10/12). The live crowd noise tells me it's going to be the Live DVD/CD anouncement. Or they're just having a good laugh about the whole thing.
Update II(9/11/12): Another video with the a live intro to "Good Times Bad Times". My pants are tight!
Not 2005, which would have been seven years ago. My favorite number, but incorrect all the same.

Neil young?
Wasn't it Def Leppard that said "It's better to burn out, than fade away"?
