This past Sunday in Bangor, ME, Ted Nugent drummer Mick Brown(formerly "Wild" Mick Brown from Dokken) was arrested on multiple charges including Operating Under The Influence after stealing a Golf Cart backstage, picking up two girls, and shoving a security guard. He was released on $4000 bail and is due in court on August 15. See the story here.
Golf Carts play a pivotal role at large multi-band, multi-stage festivals. They are the best way to negotiate a busy backstage area or get a drunken, heat stroked fan to the medical tent. Sometimes these vehicles are commandeered by artists to conduct important business like get booze to a tour bus in a timely manner or play chicken on an embankment while drinking whiskey from a bottle and almost dying.(I'm looking at you Korn) One of the worst Rock Festival Golf Cart Accidents I witnessed was during a show in Richmond, VA where some of the guys in Sponge decided to take a cart out for a casual spin before their performance during which they let several fans latch on to the vehicle which probably had a weight limit.(Again, I'm not a Doctor) They then proceeded to fly full on into a into a Cajun Food Stand, spilling delicious Rice and Beans and Shrimp toast all over the dirty pavement. I almost cried. The band, leather pants and all, then bolted backstage smelling like sweaty Gay Biker Bar in the Big Easy.
If "Sweaty" Teddy needs a new drummer, I suggest he look no further than this amazing Drum God I found on Craig's List. Even the "Motor City Madman" might have trouble keeping up with this guy. Click the image below to learn more about this "Non-Pussy".
