Tom and Peggy McElvoy of Mansfield, Texas are both 79 years old . . . and their hearing has started to go. (--Mansfield is 35 miles southwest of Dallas.)
--To cope with their hearing loss, Tom and Peggy each have special headphones they wear while watching TV . . . so they can set the volume to different levels.
--On June 2nd, they were watching a rerun of "JAG" with their headphones on . . . and didn't notice that they were being ROBBED.
--Someone broke the glass on the door to their bedroom to get in . . . 15 feet away from where Tom and Peggy were sitting.
--The burglars took Tom's money clip, two watches, and almost all of Peggy's jewelry, including her wedding ring. Altogether, it was worth about $20,000.
