Is David Gilmour in your top 10 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time List? He's in mine. Mycriteria for a great guitar player is soul and the ability to identify their playing within 5 seconds. Gilmour's iconic sound is best known from his work with Pink Floyd who were also a major influence on electronic experimentalists The Orb. In the 90's, The Orb created their mutated ambient aural landscapes during the British Acid Rave scene and gradually evolved into something that defies categorization. They have paid tribute to Floyd many times not only in their music but also the occasional album cover.
Finally these two Gods of the Stoner Universe have collaborated on "Metallic Spheres", a double CD consisting of "The Metallic Side" and "Spheres Side". Together the two tracks have a running time of 49:57 and are sure to scramble your brains medicated or otherwise.
